Buddhism doesn't believe in reincarnation, that's actually a pollution from Hindi. Buddhism believes in Enlightenment. If you achieve it you will have one very happy life. UnEnlightened people are terribly unhappy, but either Enlightened or not you only have one life and there is nothing beyond it. If you are Enlightened that doesn't matter, if not that is a major source of distress.

Not all types of Buddhism believe this, but most histories say this is the historical type.
