Hate crime charge for woman in NYC hotel confrontation

This was the woman who accused a Black teen of stealing her phone. But then an Uber driver returned it. Will she be convicted:

 

Racial profiling is all fine.... until it kicks you right in the nuts and suddenly it has nothing to do with people's ethnic background, and you better prove I racially profiled bla bla bla.

She should have smashed windows at Gucci, stole all the merchandise and set the store on fire.

Leftist DA's affixing hate crime modifiers to charges with no more justification than the alleged perpetrator being White and the apparent victim being Black has nothing to do with 'white privilege' and everything to do with POCpremacy. The next step in the evolution of this perversion of justice is to skip the trial and just punish anyone who's accused by a POC. Democrats of yore used to do just that except the race roles were reversed then. I guess this is what they mean by 'progress'. Oh well, the solution for Whites is pretty obvious: don't live in areas controlled by progressives or areas with high Black populations. /shrug

I didn't come to that conclusion. I'm only remarking on the hate crime part. Based on this article there appears to be a complete lack of any reason to enhance the charges with a hate crime. The fact that this type of prosecutorial misconduct happens so often in wokie dominant districts justifies my actual conclusion which is that this appears to be just another example of POCpremacy; ie if its White on Black its a hate crime for no other reason than the demographics of those involved.

 

I understand your argument, but I think we are missing out on lots of information in order to comment on the 'hate crime' aspect. Was there a number of people (black and white) around her and she immediately and without cause singled out the black kid?

It is far right wing conservatives having no problem with racially profiling, until they get caught wrongfully accusing the first black person they stumble upon. Verbally AND physically assaulting a minor is not just "stupidity". It's a crime. And she targeted a little black kid, because she racially profiled him. The stuff white far right wingers have no problem with doing, until they are being called out... than suddenly it all did not happen. Typical

 

The point is this, "hate crimes" is a mockery of an enhancer because it's a murky application that does not belong in the court of the law. The court of law is supposed to neutrally decide the facts of the case. It cannot neutrally determine whether or not a person "hated" the victim or acted out of a sense of hatred and bigotry. Furthermore, the enhancer doesn't necessarily make the crime worse in of itself.

Obviously this person is guilty of her crimes, but her crimes of grabbing his arm(which isn't really an imprisonment but I digress) and harassment are mere misdemeanors, which obviously the district attorney wasn't satisfied with. We as a citizenry cannot accept something as flimsy as this in a court of law.

 

The people who hate profiling have assumed what happened in this case only happened because the kid is black and the woman is not. They profiled the kid as being a perpetual victim because of his color and they profiled the woman because of hers. These are the same people who called the knockout game a myth.

 

Imagine if we were to start jailing people for making accusations. Boggles the mind.

 

Perhaps not falsely accusing people of stealing might make her life easier to live? Just a thought.....

 

I agree with part of this. I don’t see anything in this that points to a hate crime. Using it in cases like this only damages the laws credibility. I agree with charging her, but nothing I saw indicates enough to prove a hate crime.

I think you missed the belligerence of the kid. She asked him to show the screen to prove it was his and not hers. I as a reasonable person would have simply showed the screen.

Now, it is a FACT that she lost her phone.
It is a FACT that she was upset and desperate to find her phone.
It is FACT that everything she did was in an attempt to get back her phone.
It is a FACT that statistically no other group of people in America come within a country mile of young black males for crime.
If is a FACT that humans are pattern sensing organisms.
She made a mistake while being white in a progressive hell hole, and she will be made an example of of.
It is a FACT that murder rates have gone off the chain in progressive areas all over America and stories like this illustrate why.

This story reminds of the two black teens (14-16) in New York who burned a man alive for the crime of being white. Simple murder charges for them with no hate crime enhancers (I am frankly shocked that they still prosecute cases like this in progressive areas). Same place and same time but your outrage is only reserved for a kid who was wrongly accused, did not go jail, was not beaten but had his feeling hurt. Imagine what it felt like for the white man to be burned alive because of his race. Any empathy for him? Would you be surprised if she gets more prison time than the two teen sadists?

What we are witnessing is called Repressive Tolerance. Read all about it. You will understand more when the body counts in big cities begin setting all time records. They are near record highs in Milwaukee and skyrocketing. They are not prosecuting anything, they are simply doing catch and release. It is happening in EVERY progressive city and it has a purpose.

I think the real question is how many other teens were in the area? We all know kids make dumb decisions at the spur of the moment and maybe that is why the woman picked him out as the person who stole her phone? Is this a plausible explanation? I don't know.
