I'm not a physician, Te, but the concept of "LARC's" as you describe them sounds like an excellent idea to me.

SO excellent, in fact, that if they are safe, I would support giving them away to women in middle and lower income groups, and having the government pay for it (something pretty rare for a Conservative like moi).

Question: do they make a LARC for men? If not, they SHOULD! It's men humping every woman they come across that is the biggest cause of the overpopulation problem, among others....

No. You can be charged for murder in some places if you cause the death of a woman’s unborn baby.

She has to make it through the 7 months of pregnancy first. Unknown medical expenses, unknown medical issues (high blood pressure, gestational diabetes, possible confinement to bed, lots of potential complications, up to, and including death) You going to pay for that and adopt her baby? You willing to go through any and all medical issues along with her? Including killing yourself if she dies in
    labor?

Are you making the mother just an incubator with no wants and needs and freedom of will of her own?

Houston.....which is point I made. How does that point matter? The subject should just be "in general" and not cherry pick points.

    Of course they do
Because it can't live on it's own. Same as the example of the man on the respirator. He can make the choice to NOT put him on the respirator.

    Except war and execution.......right?
No one is claiming it isn't
Sorry, no. Just like your man on a respirator if you pull the plug it's not murder particularly if he gave permission. It's also not suicide.

So completely changing the subject means you admit you lost your point. The subject you changed to is about guns, not what we're talking about. The second amendment is about the right to have a gun. There is no amendment about abortion. There have been rulings that say abortion is legal.
WTF is the point you think you are making.

    Not true
In the heat of the moment
    W) I can't. I don't want to get pregnant.
    M) Not a problem, I've been snipped. (he lied).
    M) Not a problem, I have a condom. (condom is defective)

I guess my primary thought on abortion is that if God didnt want this, he wouldnt have made it possible..

Every other thought is this law sucks big time..

No matter what flavor of politics you like, banning things does not work. Prohibition wasn’t so long ago we don’t remember the lesson.

That's not true. In fact, that's impossible. You can be convicted without a body but the identity of the missing person is known.

You can't keep a fetus at 20 weeks alive. Hasn't been done. Even at 24 weeks it's only 50/50. That is what viable is. YOUR thoughts on viable are all over the place. "as long as it receives nourishment it will continue to grow...." as will anyone. "Nothing else has to be done to create it", it's already been created but that doesn't mean it can sustain life. If I bind you to a table you aren't very viable (by your definition) and will need nourishment provided by another human being.

On post 1552 you're asking for a source? It's been on the thread numerous times.

You actually have that backwards. If you're making a moral argument against abortion then there should be NO "outliers". The fact that you would allow it shows your argument is false.

    Fake News.
    • If you get raped, God forbid, take a pregnancy test before 6 weeks if you are going to choose abortion.
    • If that doesn't work, go to PP, I'm sure they will want to test the law in Court.
    • Or cross a state line.
Your claims are absurd. The pretense of utter helplessness is ridiculous

Who will be the Estelle Griswold of Texas?
"At some point, some abortion provider will try to set up a test case to challenge S.B. 8."
Hair on fire screaming is self-indulgent.

    Lolwut?:roflol:

    Huh?:bored:

Exactly HOW are finacially underpriviliged women (who barely have enough money to scrape by) going to FINANCE this "going to another state"?

Is the Gov't of Texas providing travel expenses?

    Tl;Dr--BS Narrative completely dismantled.
    Try again...:bored:

Give me a link and a pull quote to the Text of this law that requires anyone to do that.

    The OP moans SCOTUS "inaction".
SCOTUS has no legitimate authority to "block" S.B. 8, "only one named judge in the case. Had the District Court used a single opinion to deny the motion to dismiss, certify the class, and grant the injunction, the situation would have been very different. But the judge's piecemeal approach allowed the government defendants to seek an interlocutory appeal based on the denial of sovereign immunity."

    https://reason.com/volokh/2021/09/03/four-things-opponents-of-s-b-8-should-not-say/
Biden lost more cases faster than any President in history and the blunt stupidity of his legal team seems to be spreading.
Your cries of Rape! Rape! Rape! are self-serving and incongruent.
The law is clearly valid on some points and will be court-tested on others. It's severability provisions are rock solid.

"Some trial judge will find the law unconstitutional in a specific context. That ruling would only bind the particular plaintiffs and defendants on those particular facts. Other plaintiffs, in other jurisdictions, with other claims, could sue the same defendants and reach a different result."

Best bet is if you want an abortion in Texas, do it before the baby's heartbeat is detectable, because in Texas, every beating heart is protected by law.
