States seceded and were no longer states of the United States. You refuted nothing of the history I have cited and yes because Lincoln decided HE didn't want any states to leave the Union he we invade the South bent on it's destruction. Southerners had every right to defend themselves.

I am an individual... and I think and post as an individual.

Obviously, this confuses cultural marxists who all share the same evil degenerate hive-mind.

The state to secede would have had to obtain the approval of Congress. "Out" is the same way as "in"--by act of Congress. South Carolina remained a state of these United States.
The feds owned Fort Sumter before, during, and after the Civil War.
    The CSA never existed.
    They were traitors.

Nope, it was not joining into a confederation or treaty, it was leaving the state and no longer a state of the United States.

It was land SC as a state of the United States allowed to be used and under negotiation as to disposition. Unoccupied. The Union movement of troops to occupy and arm were hostile acts and with the intent to have a point of blockade. They were warned to leave that point and continue negotiations. Lincoln then committed another hostile act sending his navy and army to run the mouth of the harbor in order to further reinforce and arm for that blockade. He knew it would be considered a hostile and require and answer by SC forces which is why he sent so many armed ships with it. That was an act of war and the state of SC had every right to defend itself against that build up forces within it's territorial waters and refuse Lincolns hostilities.

And THEN Lincoln send his armies to invade Virginia at Arlington. So don't tell me the Confederates start hostilities or started the war and therefore the blood is on their hands it is clearly on the hands of Lincoln and HIS decisions and HIS acts.

The CSA existed for 6 years.

Specifically by Congressional and Presidential decree no Southerner who fought in the war was a traitor and are treated as veterans. Why do you keep repeating that fallacious statement. Even by the dictionary definition they were not traitors they were no longer citizens of the United States and the war was levied against them not the other way around.

Revisionist nonsense. The CSA never existed. States cannot separate without an act of Congress.
U.S. forces cannot invade their own country.
The had no legal right to secede.

Imagine the worse Third World country today and the CSA would be even worse.

The Jewish Babylonian Talmud says that each Jew will have 2,800 slaves in the afterlife. I would settle for one.

You bring up a very good point, since the Confederates were no longer part of the US during the war, all children in those areas born during the were were not US citizens. They never did become naturalized. One of them became the VP of the USA in violation of the Constitution.

Several State constitutions give their citizens the right to revolt when the government no longer serves their needs. That idea was well-established before America became a country.

My post said nothing about Trump.

I voted for Trump beginning with Texas early GOP primary voting Feb 2016... through Nov 2020... NOT because I agreed with everything he said and did [that would be impossible]... but because he is a maverick like me [independent-minded] who aggravates Leftists with his powerful wild and woolly personality.

And yet your post described Donnie perfectly.

“like me” ? Good to know you are, among other things, a criminal too.

Somehow I very much doubt this.

Tell you what, I'll be okay with removing any statues that were put in place more than 30 years after the end of the war.

Oh please... everyone knows it's the commie left that marches in lockstep to a cultural marxist hive-mind... now called "wokeness".

Most of those on the right [like me] are so independently minded, getting them to march in lockstep would be like herding cats.

all one has to do is look at Trump supporters to know that is not true, talk about a hive mind

you may not support everything on the right, and I may not support everything on the left - but we both know there is a lot of hive mind thinking on both sides

YOU were the one who started this conversation by complaining that all those on the right never stick with one answer. Apparently I have wasted my time trying to explain to you that you will get different answers from different people on the right because those on the right are more individualistic and think independently. Therefore, many times we rightists don't agree with each other.

Fort Sumter is on an artificial island created by the federal government. It was owned by the United States because South Carolina could not secede.

nope, you started it, you brought up the hived mind stuff, I just agreed with you and added to it

you will get a different answer from the left too, but you seem to want to group us all together (is that the part of the rights hive mind thinking, that everyone on the left thinks alike?)

I was thinking about prevention... preventing your poor significant other from either going postal or being bored to death :D
