Indeed, it would be very surprising if the Republicans wanted to hear from Milley before a Senate committee.

Because the vast majority of conservative elected officials also know that Trump is crazy.

Pelosi and Schumer aren't in the Army.

And you should read the posts you respond to.

    Not really.

And the reason is quite simple: we will soon discover that Milley was far from being alone in his approach and that several high ranking army officers and Pompeo were perfectly aware of what he was doing.

Get ready to write a lot of names in your list of so-called traitors.

Bullshit. He most probably would have ignored his "promise" if it came down to that. In any case it was just words designed to control a communist. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT MILLEY WOULD HAVE DONE.

It is exceptionally EXTREME to suggest a person be tried and sentenced for speaking, right?

Fair enough, although I would still claim that any "Sneak Attack" on China from the US would have blown away Pearl Harbor on a sneakiness level..

His actions jeopardized National Security of this nation and were an intent to undermine the President of the United States. All of that is called treason, no matter how many BS's you want to spew.

Ummmmmmmmmmm, in case you don't remember the FACTS, Trump never tried nuking China. Apparently Milley was wrong and usurping the power of a US president, based merely on his opinions and thoughts. Is this how we want our military to work - ignoring orders and making their own decisions based on their own opinions and thoughts?

He is a member of the United States military. His rights are not the same as the non-military citizen.

A Marine LTC was fired for speaking truth, but liberals all say that was okay. And his words did not threaten National Security nor did his actions undermine the Presidency.

Yeah, like Schlesinger did in 1974. Former Secretary of Defense James Schlesinger issued an edict to military leaders in August 1974 to not follow orders that came directly from President Nixon, who is facing impeachment, or from the White House without first checking with Secretary of Defense James Schlesinger and his Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman, General George Brown.

We could argue that point. I think it's pretty well established that the Pearl Harbor attack was purposely planned as a sneak attack...including the timing of the Japanese diplomats in Washington in breaking off diplomatic relations. It is true that the U.S. had established trade restrictions (primarily oil) on Japan because of their invasion of Manchuria.

His actions were outside the purview of his responsibilities. That makes it treason by a military officer.
Trump could have been ready to push the button to launch our entire nuclear arsenal and Milley has no direct action that he can take to stop this. He has no authority thus his actions were only damage to National Security.

Reality is, his call could have easily opened the door for China to attack the United States.

Of course Pearl Harbor was a sneak attack... not even up for debate.... But intelligence, diplomatic efforts, and common sense said Japan was likely to strike somewhere before the end of the year.... We were on basic, if not full and specific, military alert for that, in both Hawaii and the Phillipines.

I'm just arguing scale here, because while China is probably ready militarily for most anything, a nuclear attack from the US for scuffles in the SC Sea or trade disagreements would be an overreaction of T****ian proportions...

You and Milley have zero evidence of a rogue POTUS and Milley is not involved in the process to contain the President. He has no say so whatsoever. None. There is only the 25th Amendment or action by Congress. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs is neither of these. You really should study the constitution.

U.S. Marine battalion commander Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller was fired on Aug. 27 after he posted a video on LinkedIn and Facebook criticizing the “ineptitude” of U.S. military leadership over the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan and demanding “accountability” from those involved.

Milley did nothing wrong. He told his subordinates to make sure they obeyed only lawful orders and that, as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, he was part of the decision-making process. He told Pelosi that while he agreed with her regarding Trump's sanity, everything was under control. He told his Chinese counterpart, there would be no "surprise attack" by the U.S. on China.
