I know that we now have full Democrat control with Democrat policies that hurt the common folk. Surely Democrat votes could not have caused this...............could it???? Democrat votes have consequences; never good for senior citizens
that is why they call it a cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) "Social Security Benefits to Rise 5.9% in 2022, Most in Four Decades" https://www.nytimes.com/2021/10/13/business/social-security-cola.html
the biggest effect on prices is a shortage of oil, cause by Trump sticking his grubby fingers in it during the middle of last year "Trump told Saudi: Cut oil supply or lose U.S. military support" https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...se-u-s-military-support-sources-idUSKBN22C1V4 "Trump threatens 'very substantial' tariffs on imported oil if Saudi Arabia and Russia can't reach a deal to push prices back up" https://www.insider.com/trump-threatens-saudi-arabia-russia-oil-tariffs-2020-4 it's not just the United States dealing with this, it's many Countries around the world that depend on that cheap oil Trump votes had Consequences; Not good for senior citizens
If democrats never had votes, we'd never have SS nor Medicare in the first place. Many people would be stuck without any safety net whatsoever. Whether or not you want to admit it, republicans voted for this mess we are in today along with the democrats.
You confuse Democratic votes with progressive votes. Joe Manchin is a Democratic vote. I'd call Trump a Democratic vote before he decided to run against Hillary. Some Democratic votes are bad, the radical votes like progressive votes. Some Republican votes are bad, the radical votes like from neo-conservatives for example.
Try as you may with the constant deflection, the Democrat party owns this mess as it began once they had full control. How anyone other than those who work for govt can ever again vote Democrat is beyond me. It pales any common sense Democrat votes have consequences; always harmful
in this country, at least still today, all votes are democratically done. But, a Democrat vote is always bad for the common folk
Well not a problem for me personally. My grandmother always said every time she got a raise in her social security, there was always a raise in her medicare that took almost all of it away.
So in essence your apparent take on this is "The DNC Giveth, and so the DNC may Taketh away", what a grand sacrifice you condone Granting all they deserve for the perk, but to chew away at it, spend it as it was a rainy day fund and now beat it down from total moronic policy/inflation, well that's horse of a different color
It is not the facts that are false .. it is your conclusions that are false - that this is in any way responsible for oil prices right now .. is preposterous nonsense.
Well said and Exactly. Trump OWNS this current economic "mess" (inflation, etc...). Thus, Trump's Failed Policies causing the raise in prices (referenced in the OP) is a sad hangover remaining from Trump's 4-Year Disaster... How anybody ever voted for Trump is beyond me... Trump votes had Consequences, Never good for the common folk.
Russia and El Saud was engaging in price fixing .. intentionally flooding the market. The Saudi's did this while covid was happening .. killed the shale industry -- which cause 3 million barrels a day production decrease .. they did not cut supply at Trumps request.. .. so your claim is false to begin with.. Second .. Prices did not rise very much while Trump was in office. Third - you claiming that Trump was responsible for todays prices .. is abject nonsense -- the most you could claim would be that Trump caused a short term price increase .. .. which if Trump had done this .. would have helped out the Shale patch ... This however is not how things played out .... and on this basis .. you have no clue what you are talking about.
Nowhere does the OP mention the word "progressive" in the post I responded to; hence my response was to the use of his word "democrat". When they vote in congress and/or the senate it's done on a party basis, ie. Democrat, republican, independent, etc. I've yet to see the words "progressive", "conservative" used in modern times.
prices did not rise cause demand dropped due to the virus, once demand increased is when we saw the effect of Trump's actions
You have no clue what you are talking about .. no understanding of the market you are talking about - how it works .. how long an effect lasts - and your claim that Trump had such an effect is simply not true .. your "Facts" are not "Facts" What part of .. Russia and Saudi Arabia crashed the US shale oil ponzi scheme -- do you not understand ? .. was only after that was done .. mission accomplished -- production declined 3 million bpd - that they started to ease back on flooding the market .. not because of anything Trump did.. You are wrong .. six ways to Sunday on this one. Get a valid argument -- I can give you a few against Trump if you like .. far better than this nonsense .. overall inflation is not due to Biden .. those tropes are just as moronic .. Biden/Obama are however responsible for decreasing domestic prodution ..which includes Canada - the anti pipeline stance and anti domestic production stance .. coupled with this wrong minded mantra in the EU - that cause a long term decrease in investment .. so very little new projects have come on-line -- not enough to keep up with demand. And they want this .. this was the moron twins stated objective -- using the horribly misguided logic that decreaseing domestic supply will increase price causing less usage .. mind boggling idiocy on steroids .. dumb and dumber policy .. "Not in my back Yard - Dump it in the Ocean" ..
Because we were pumping PLENTY here and the Saudis and Russians were trying to manipulate the price to shut that down and threaten our energy independence. You think the President should have said nothing and just let them play their market manipulation games? And we were paying $1.00 less than now under Biden's plan to make us dependent on the foreign oil. Why are we better off now with Biden shutting down our own energy production and having to BEG the OPEC countries to PLEASE pump more so we can buy it at their inflated prices. OTOH it was foreign government trying to make us energy dependents on them, OTOH it is Biden doing it now. Why was either better than Trump's making us energy independent and an exporter of energy?
We reached number one in oil production under Obama not Dirty Donald, in fact fracking declined under him.
