It hasn't "become" that, it was set up that way. It's always been that way:

Or maybe he just doesn't agree with it, therefore isn't supporting it.

If he supported it he'd vote for it as he would have no reason not to.

Maybe it's just an crap ton of spending with very little economic benefit and he sees it as a waste.

We aren't exactly in a position to be wasteful right now.

I'm pretty sure he voted against that. It was pretty easy to find too. It's almost as easy to find as a free dating sight.

It feels like Joe Manchin is keeping us safe from a terrible agenda.

    https://www.cnn.com/2021/11/01/politics/manchin-biden-agenda/index.html

(CNN)When Joe Manchin stepped to the podium in the US Capitol on Monday afternoon, the hope among Democrats was that he was going to announce that he supported the $1.75 trillion social safety net bill -- a moment that would virtually ensure passage of the bulk of President Joe Biden's first-term domestic agenda.

After all, why else would Manchin call a news conference and tell reporters that he was going to "clear up a lot of things"?
Well, not that, as it turns out.
What the West Virginia Democrat announced was that liberals' attempts to secure his vote for the safety net bill in exchange for their backing of the $1.2 trillion "hard" infrastructure bill aren't working -- and won't work.

"It is time to vote on the (bipartisan infrastructure) bill, up or down," said Manchin. "Holding this bill hostage is not going to work in getting my support
    for the reconciliation bill."

Ultimately, Manchin didn't want to get jammed into supporting something he was far from ready to endorse, CNN's Manu Raju reported after talking to a source familiar with the senator's thinking.
As to whether he will EVER support the social safety net bill, Manchin was decidedly noncommittal. Raju, who was at the Manchin presser, also noted:
"One thing that Manchin's statement makes clear is it's going to take time — potentially a lot more time — to win his support, if that's even possible."
It's hard to overstate how big a setback Manchin's statement represents for Biden, who is attending a climate change conference in Scotland.

AJ Brandon always leaves town when the news is bad.

    Just like Afghanistan.

If he had a domestic agenda win he'd be teleconferencing with the euros.

    But surprise he did not.

Even his lying ginger is in quarantine.

Manchin Destroys Pelosi's Chessboard - Slams "Budget Gimmicks" And "Shell Games" To Force Through Economic Package
    [IMG]
    Back to square one...

This bull crap about pass this with that, but whe don't know what's in this or that, Manchin says No.

First the bipartisan infrastructure bill is passed by the House, and more clarity is provided in general on the reconciliation bill.
They probably should wait until after the Congressional elections and they have heard from the voters.

This is manifestly false. An exact detailing of a bill that is still in negotiations is, it should be obvious, not possible. Nothing is yet final, because of the haggling required to get, specifically, Manchin & Sinema to sign on.

But both Nancy Pelosi & Bernie Sanders-- if you have any interest in truth, rather than your unsupported propaganda-- have faulted the media for not covering in greater detail, all the proposed program spending, in the plan, which has been shared with them! Instead, the press prefers to focus on the drama of the conflicts between different factions, and political personages.

She's really the most talented member in that entire administration. Mama Kamala spends her time staging fake vids, Bootygag spends his time playing house, Yellen spends her time desperately trying to convince us that the worst economic practices will actually have the best economic outcomes, Garland spends his time chasing phantom 'domestic terrorists', Fudge spends her time crying racist (a real refresher for that cabinet position /eyeroll), Mayorkas spends his time ensuring the homeland is as insecure as possible, and Brandon... well Brandon spends his time taking power naps, telling fairy tales about trains, and happily reminding us at least once a week that hes not actually in charge of jack ****.

Psaki, on the other hand, is the only person who's not only doing her job to the letter (disseminating bullshit for the WH) but excelling at it.

Sorry. No matter how much you rail, Manchin is a Democrat. He has always been a Democrat. He's just not a leftist Democrat. He's a centrist Democrat. And the the fact that he isn't toeing the line is what has got you pissed off. Nothing else.

But hey, I'm quite sure that Republican's would love to have him on their side if you really want to have him switch. That would then put Republican's back in the majority and Harris would be out of the picture as a tie breaker. So you just keep berating him.

And the Democrats have had months to put the bill on paper. Manchin's been around Washington long enough to know you can't trust anyone in politics. His constituents want it in writing. WVA's no longer believe in party first for good reason. They want to see the bill first before they expect their representative to vote on it. Why is that a problem for democrats? Only an idiot would agree to something that is not in writing.

Good. Its good they don't just cram things through in one voice. This is how things should be done, and its too bad both parties are not engaged in it.

Biden was sold as a moderate not a far left progressive so the people didn’t vote for this turd of a bill.

100%. Every Democrat and Democrat voter should hang their head in shame and embarrassment. This is the worst administration this country has ever had. I can’t think of any world leader in world history who is as weak and pathetic as Biden is.

I'm guessing that you are just speaking confidently, despite being without any reason to do so. In case I am mistaken, I ask you why you say that it is almost impossible for the plan to fail in the Senate, when it has been common knowledge that no Republican Senators will support this plan, so the legislation is doomed without 100% Democratic support in the Senate, which includes Manchin & Sinema? I, by the way, am in favor of the plan. I am looking for some real reason for optimism, if you can provide it. But the fact is that Manchin's vote is crucial. So I suppose something makes you believe that this is only theatrics, from the two holdouts, and that there is hardly any chance that both won't eventually come along (without forcing even further, significant changes in the bill)?

Manchin's goal is not to defeat the plan.

Nor is he acting in the best interests of the nation, as he claims.

He's a Democratic senator from one of the reddest states in the country, so he needs to show his constituents that he's acting like a maverick.

West Virginians currently believe they are the most powerful citizens in the country.

    And that's because of Manchin.

But in the end, I think he'll rally.
