They play book is clear: Get the greatest number of people taking government “temporary” handouts as you can before you are booted from power and dare Republicans to try to take it away.
An economic coup, if you will.

Biden will have to compromise or he will lose this bill like Trump did the healthcare bill

Biden can't find a door out of the Oval Office unless someone leads him to it :roflol:

There was bipartisan approval on the infrastructure bill. Why not just send that bill to Biden to sign? Republicans have already stated they won't approve the larger safety net bill. The party that is holding up the bipartisan bill is the Democrats who can't agree on the larger bill.

    They probably should do that.

Yes, the conservative dems and more liberal ones can't agree on some measures, and it has already been negotiated to half the size of the original package.

Yes, that is to be expected. The bill has taxpayer funded childcare, etc things which they are strictly opposed to.

There is bipartisan agreement on infrastructure. The fight is over the democrats march toward socialism - something that is totally incompatible with open borders and tribalism.
Because the progressives have demanded the whole enchilada or nothing.

And yet you never mention the other half of the Democratic Party, the progressives who are the ones that are holding up the bipartisan infrastructure bill because they want the larger safety net bill in writing and pre-approved by the senate. Why do Democrats have a problem with WVa's getting the larger bill in writing before they give Manchin the approval to vote for it? What idiot would vote for something that is not in writing? The Democrats have had more than enough time to write the bill.

Yes Republicans made that clear so Democrats need to move on.

Democrats in the house persist that the only bill they agree to is what Manchin does not agree to.

Biden is sleeping in Scotland totally unware of his job.

It is the same old Nancy Pelosi trick called you must first vote for the law prior to knowing what the law is about.

And Manchin knows that all too well. He also knows the slimmed down safety net bill of $1.75T is hogwash. He's knows even the slimmed down bill will cost double that in the end and want Democrats who will vote for it to be honest about the actual cost. Why should anyone be surprised a bill is going to cost far more than we are being told?!

I don't see how they are debating the details if no one knows anything about them.

And just like that, Manchin is the most powerful man in US. I think he is the kind of moderate/conservative dem who might appeal to independents. People have had enough with partisan politicians.

Biden is in Scotland telling the world one thing while something totally different is taking place in Washington amongst his own party members. He needs to shut his mouth.

Democats promises always come with half baked lies.
Take the CA super fast rail project. It is so far over budget they never can get it back on budget yet the Democrat will pursue the rail damned few want or even know exists.

I remember those $600 toilet seats. I wonder how much we were initially told they would cost or was that a hidden cost because the bill had not yet been completely written when congress voted on it?
