Many liberal politicians want to let criminals purposely kill with no consequences.

Here, a bullet went through a wall and hit someone in a freak happening. You know the city will be paying out millions. How much do victims get when Tyrone and K'Shaun do drive-by's?

I recommend everyone lawyer up, guilty or innocent, otherwise the cops and the da will tailor your story, anything you say wrong, or misremembered, can come back to haunt you

Too bad the girl in the dressing room wasn't trying on a bullet proof vest.

Probably good advice for a liar. Personally, I take responsibility for my actions and my words. If I were arrested for some reason I wouldn't lie. I wouldn't say a thing.

How about using a taser or a nightstick to subdue the perp instead of automatically reaching for a gun?

Here's some more info for you !!!!!!

    https://news.yahoo.com/paid-experts-help-exonerate-police-125417007.html
Over the past two decades, Dr. Gary Vilke has established himself as a leading expert witness by repeatedly asserting that police techniques such as facedown restraints, stun gun shocks and some neck holds did not kill people.

Once again you make this a political issue when it is a legal issue. Yet when the likes of Ashli Babbit and the Bundi clan take over some federal property, then no way is it fair for the state to do it.

Fine but, if the perp has a gun? Or is high on something that causes him/her to become stronger and, more aggressive?

I didn’t say never reach for a gun, or remove firearms from cops (incidentally, do you know most British cops don’t carry firearms). I said it shouldn’t be automatic. I think there should be more training aimed at NOT using firearms. At using other methods.

Some times, it comes down to a split second decision, one that may mean living or, dying, do you use deadly force or, risk the perp being in an altered state and, keep coming at you?

All the training in the world, wouldn't help you in that scenario and, you may have lost your edge by going for the taser first.

Heart attack or concussion? Why is it the cops responsibility to keep a perp safe? He/she is there to control a situation that is already bad because it's their job. Someone sitting in their living room watching a riot or crime on their tv is not in a position to quarterback the situation where people are being threatened or harmed. Let cops do their jobs and support them when it gets unpleasant.

In this case it isn’t about keeping the perp safe. He was killed and nobody is complaining about that.

It’s about keeping the public safe, and that didn’t happen.

Anyone else justifiably shoots a criminal and accidentally hits a bystander goes to jail for a negligent or reckless form of homicide

When a person's job is driving they will more likely have an accident. When a person's job is catching criminals there will more than likely be accidents.

    This is just reality.

I’ve never used a taker so don’t really know and I’m not a cop. But was he in range to use a taser? Did he have a taser? I’m sure there’s other concerns. Nightstick? Was the officer carrying one? Was the perp hopped up on dope? Sounds like he was hopped up on something or has some mental issues. Should this cop lose advantage and go hand to hand with a juiced up person? Did the police know who the person was and that perhaps has a violent history with police? So all we have is a quick, simple story with little information.
Best to hold our thoughts until some concrete information is available

It's their job to not have any.
