If he had not been elected, the vendetta against Zelenskyy who had refused to contrive criminal charges against Biden - even when vital military aid was withheld to pressure him - and the cloying deference to a "savvy genius" whose treacherous words were accepted over the corroborated finding of U.S intelligence agencies, would have dictated a far different policy.

Putin was counting on a fractured NATO provided by trump. But Biden undid that damage in about a week.

 

Persisting in the isolationist "It's all about ME!" America Alone policy would have licensed the "savvy genius" to persist in his predations, re-building his "Evil Empire."

The "savvy genius"'s ill-conceived aggression came after Trump's trashing NATO, undoubtedly a significant factor in the "savvy genius"' conspiring to elect his boy. Biden, however, unified NATO and reminded it of its essential mission in defense of democracy..

Putin realized that there was now a leader of the free world who would no longer kowtow to his perfidy, and that made him impetuous. His gradual expansion would no longer have a patsy in the White House but, rather, consigned to lying and indulging vendettas at Loser grievance jamborees.
