Yeah .. the difference being there were not people in the buildings at the time they were bombed in Syria .. and you can add Raqqa to the list along with a dozen other cities .. .. Comparing the atrocity between Ukraine-Syria wars .. like comparing a flea to an elephant ... its a disgusting endeavor to be honest .. along the lines of apoligizing for atrocity ... trying to minimize what went down in Syria. Ukraine is cake wake by comparison ... not even remotely comparable in terms of civilian atrocity.

From Havana to Washington DC 1827 km in a straight line.
Or is Washington not a respected target?

Putin said on Dec. 15th that "he will deliver to the next generations a Russia that will not be threatened by risks of a strategic nature". With the accession of Sweden and especially Finland to NATO, not only will the purpose and goal of starting the war in Ukraine not be fulfilled, but on the contrary, V. Putin will be handing over to the next president an even worse security situation according to military experts.

The Russian military therefore has suggested to V. Putin that he immediately launch a military operation against Finland to halt its progress towards NATO membership and restore Russia's strategic security. The reasons are very serious.

1 - If Finland joins NATO and places an anti-ballistic shield in the country, Russia's nuclear missile launch area will be threatened. Russia's nuclear arsenal is in danger.

2 - At the same time, NATO will be able to deploy missiles there and strike at the bases of our nuclear submarines in the Barents Sea and, most importantly, in Severodvinsk, which is more important for the Americans from St. Petersburg.

3 - This is where NATO will be given the possibility of a first strike from both Norway and Finland.

4 - At the same time, the entry of Finland and Sweden into the NATO bloc makes it possible to attack St. Petersburg and the Gulf of Finland from these territories.

5 - Finally, Kaliningrad will be isolated and in danger.

Both Zelenskyy and Putin are moving forward and nothing will stop either one of them.

Putin's Russia will go after Finland after they think they'll win easily in Ukraine and insert his dictatorship there as well.

And that's exactly what Washington should start doing. They should stop butting in the affairs of other nations.

Unbelievable! Seems more and more areas want to unite with Russia - which must be freaking out Washington. I think like Crimea, they're doing it as protection from incursions by their neighbors.

South Ossetia will be holding a referendum to unite with the Russian Federation on July 17.

Pres. Anatoly Bibilov - "Guided by the historical desire of the people of the Republic of South Ossetia for reunification with Russia, in accordance with paragraph 16 of Article 50 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Ossetia, I decided to call a referendum in the Republic of South Ossetia with the question:

'Do you support the unification of the Republic of South Ossetia and Russia? This is not just a partnership or friendship. On the contrary, it is a relationship of trust between two brothers, where the older brother will always understand and support with words and deeds, and the younger one will honor and help the older one. Now, fully aware of the self-sufficiency and equality of the rights of all, it's time to unite."

I can't comment on Syria, other than that Assad is hated by his own people, and Russia stopped the revolution.
Ironic, really, when you think about it.

What missiles? Ukraine wants to be a part of Europe, not a part of Russia. In fact I will wager that Georgia, Belarus and Chechnya
want to be a part of Europe - who the hell wouldn't? What does Russia have to offer any other than the past, dictatorship and the ruble?

Ukrainian lawmaker says situation on battlefield is "far worse" than it was at the start of war

    From CNN's Jennifer Hansler:

A Ukrainian lawmaker called on the United States to provide air defense systems and fighter jets to Ukraine, saying that the situation on the battlefield is "far worse" than it was at the beginning of the war.

“It is hell” on the frontlines right now, Oleksandra Ustinova told reporters at a German Marshall Fund roundtable in Washington Friday. “We keep losing many more men now than it was at the beginning of the war.”
Daria Kaleniuk, a leading Ukrainian civil society activist, explained “we can't win this war with Soviet equipment because A. Russia has much more Soviet equipment, B. we don't have anywhere to get ammunition for this, and C. Russia simply has more people and more troops."

Ustinova said Ukraine no longer seeks the Soviet-era MiG fighter jets because “the war has changed.”

Instead, she said Ukraine needs the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS), Paladin self-propelled howitzers, and fighter jets like the F-16s in order to effectively counter Russia, and called on the US to begin training Ukrainian pilots to use such jets.

Kaleniuk, who said she recently met with Ukrainian defense officials in Kyiv, noted that Ukraine has “combat-experienced pilots, who are willing and ready to go now for trainings. They were willing to go yesterday for trainings. But there is no decision to accept them and to provide that because there is no decision to provide fighter jets.”

The US has begun to send heavy weaponry to Ukraine, but has yet to give them MLRS or fighter jets.

Ustinova and Kaleniuk, who were in Washington this week for meetings, said that they believe there is a lack of “political will that is needed” for the administration to decide to send such kinds of heavy weaponry – and quickly — and the feeling that there is still fear about provoking Moscow.

They decried the fact that it took so long for the US to decide to send the heavy weaponry it is sending now, with Ustinova saying, “if we had Howitzers two months ago, Mariupol would not happen because they wouldn't be able to surround like they did, to surround the city and literally destroy it.”

“For us time means lives, thousands of lives. We've been hearing that it has been unprecedented how fast everything is moving and how fast the decisions are taking. But there has never been a war since World War Two like that. And unfortunately, we keep asking here to take the decisions faster,” she said.

    There's three outcomes in Ukraine.
1 - Russia wins. Ukraine becomes a dictatorship. Russia starts complaining about NATO in Poland, and the cycle starts again.
2 - Ukraine wins and joins NATO, missiles and all
3 - Ukraine agrees to be 'neutral' and becomes a military power all of its own - enough to threaten Russia.

Russia has to stop thinking in terms of winning and losing territory - it's the 21st Century
And no-one, repeat no-one, wants to march on Moscow.

Zelensky says Ukraine has retaken more than 1,000 settlements from Russian forces

    From CNN's Mariya Knight

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky say Ukraine has retaken six settlements from Russian forces on Friday, and 1,015 overall since the start of the conflict in February.

''We continue to restore the de-occupied territories of Ukraine. As of today, 1,015 settlements have been de-occupied, which is plus six in the past 24 hours,'' he said in his nightly address.
It is unclear exactly how much territory those settlements constitute. Zelensky did outline other gains by Ukraine’s military in those areas.

“We return electricity, water supply, communications, transport, social services there,” he said.

He also stated that “the gradual liberation of Kharkiv region” proves that Ukraine “will not leave anyone to the enemy.”

You know nothing about "Assad is hated by his own people" Biden his hated by his own people .. what kind of a nonsense nothing statement is this .. and while .. as Biden .. there were plenty who had issues .. wanted reforms of one for or another .. what they didn't want .. overwhelmingly .. is the hardline extremists to take over .. who you know nothing about of any detail .. sans what I have told you .. most of which went deer in headlights .. or into the denial - never heard that bin.

Nothing ironic about Russia stopping the revolution .. because there was no revolution .. of the civil war variety .. so ply that state sponsored propaganda lie .. with some other guy.

Well, look up the definition of revolution, and revolt. Happened all over the Middle East. Russia stopped it in Syria.
Biden isn't hated like Assad - that's a massive false equivalency fallacy. If you don't like Biden you can vote him out
in a couple of years. Assads have been in power for decades (and quite mild compared to some leaders BTW)

Not a massive false equivalency .. only one doing that is you .. Assad doesn't have a nice peacefull population to control .. is a nation with a large contingency of Islamist Jihadist .. radical salafists ... running around killing people who disagree with them ... and yes these folks were part of the "Revolution" you laughably wanting to dicker over words .. desperately trying to pretend not to hear my previous comment .. that this was not a civil war .. all kinds of "Revolutions" ...Proud Boys one could call a revolution .. but multiply that by ten thousand .. and you have Syria .. except hold on .. your 20,000 extremists in Syria ... is then supplemented with 50,000 foreign troops from foreign lands .. all joining in the "Holy Jihad" which is true is a Revolution .. to bring an end to Secularism in Syria .. turn it into Strict Sharia Vunderland like your beloved El Saud .. model of Freedom for the Middle east.

Assad won overwhelmingly in the last election .. and for good reason .. the people were happy to be liberated from the alternative .. wouldn't you be ?

Tell me Pooh .. who would you rather be running the town in which you live .. Assad Regime .. or Islamic State ..

Talk about false equivalency .. you trying to compare the Islamic state to life under Russia in a regions that they occupy and hold -- say booting Ukraine out of Donesk ..

Would you rather live there Donesk .. under Russian dominion .. or in Raqqa .. a protectorate of the US during the war in Syria ... under the Islamic State .. or Hom's .. Alleppo .. take your pick .. dem ISIS folks gonna have a whole lot of fun with the likes of you Sally .. and even more fun if its Sam ..

Ah yes freedom. Isn't it lovely. Four days ago, the martyred city of Mariupol celebrated Victory Day for the first time after 8 years of Azov neonazi rule.

    ENJOY!

M-109s and M-270s? Abso-frakkin-lutely. F-16s? As long as American pilots and ground crews are not involved, I don't have a problem with it, but the Saab Gripen might better suit their needs. A few Patriot and Centurion C-RAM systems to protect the larger population centers wouldn't hurt.

    This is correct.
