White Nationalist ‘Patriot Front’ Detained, Members Arrested at Pride Event in Idaho

Members of the White Nationalist group “Patriot Front” that started showing up over the last year with little shields and matching outfits were detained en masse on Saturday in Idaho.

At the annual Pride in the Park event in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, the masked Patriot Front members were detained by police and, according to individuals at the scene, being arrested one by one.

To date, not much has been revealed about the members of the group, although it does have a website where they espouse typical White nationalist views. Now that they are being arrested, the masks will have to come off for some at least.

It is not clear at this time what the group is being arrested for doing, but other arrests have taken place as different groups have interfered with the Pride event.


Arrests mean an official record with mugshots and names. So that will be interesting. On the other hand...

 

What were they arrested for? Wrongthink?

It's a weird group that seems to have gotten away with a lot, so it's interesting that they're now being arrested.

What threat do they claim they pose? I ask because the nationwide rioting and anarchy from the left wing ANTIFA and BLM all summer was not viewed as a threat by the left. Just trying to understand how the left defines a threat. What is your criteria?

I'm glad this was stopped but will it play into media stereotypes about Idaho:

 

It is possible they were arrested as a group despite not actually breaking any law.

It sounds like police were trying to prevent them from arriving at the group.

The fact that they were seen wearing riot gear was not a good sign, it suggested that they were prepared for being physically assaulted.

That's the modern world for you, people being arrested because they are wearing protective gear.

As a Libertarian, this seems to be an affront to rights and rule of law. It's questionable whether they even should have been arrested.

 

It looks like their crime was "being on the Far Right" and seeming prepared to cause trouble.

This is the type of law enforcement that you see in Communist China.

Maybe they were afraid they would be attacked. Had that ever occurred to you?

It's very difficult to believe this group actually wanted to commit a riot all by themselves. They knew the other side would be there to attack them.

You're not very good at reading between the lines.

The police were misrepresenting (or mischaracterizing) things.

Some crooked people in law enforcement will take evidence and say "it looks like this is evidence of...", when it's not.
They know they won't get in trouble because those above them will approve what they are doing, even if they know it's totally made up.

Whatever judge signed off on this warrant should go to jail, but won't.
