Good to know that your whole complaint about "snark" was fake. Thanks for confirming. Not all of us share your authoritarian assumptions. Learn to live with it.

Also, while I'm not the biggest Ayn Rand fan, she does prove that you guys are full of ****, despising both theism and big government. And it isn't like there aren't plenty of atheist anarchists out there who go even further in rejecting both.

Learn what "in this context" means.

Common sense. They didn't "turn away" until after the country became dictatorships. Besides, they didn't "turn away" they simply kept their faith a secret.

    That is what I said.

The link I gave stated 84% Christian .. my comment relates to that link. 84% is over 80% ... you being the one engaging in semantics ... running away from the topic of the convo you jumped into .. which was the claim that Norway was 80% atheist .. a claim which is patent nonsense .. consistent with your inability put forth a coherent thought.

I am talking about this context .. you the one who can't figure out what the context is... unable to figure out that the difference between atheism and agnosticism is a huge deal "in context" ... or the fact that you have no coherent argument .. and have exhibited no common sense .. nor understanding of the subject matter :)

Someone else said 80% atheist. YOU responded with over 80% Christian. Why are you not willing to defend your own patent nonsense claim? Sounds like what you put forth wasn't a coherent thought and now you are projecting the failure of your argument onto others.

Sweden is 80% atheist and Norway is 70%. As we have pointed out some Nordic countries will add new-born babies to church membership rolls, which is why it seems (on paper) that they have a high number of Christians, but when you ask adults, they are mostly atheists, and same is true in Japan (even to a greater extent). Nordic nations are culturally Christian and even sport the Christian cross on their flags, and there is nothing wrong with that. Celebrating Christmas and Easter are great traditions, even if there is no faith involved.

You just aren't understanding free speech. Free speech certainly does NOT mean that there are never ramifications for what you say.

The distinction doesn't come with what media you use. It comes with what is said.

No, you are not. You are arguing for the sake of arguing, and it sounds like you are getting upset.

Do you think a post like that is an argument? Its not, its just a heap of arrogant nonsense, and yet its all you bring here.

Cool your jets and learn to admit when you are wrong. Trying to shout people down is a losing strategy.

In this context, no, it doesn't matter. And even outside this context there are overlapping definitions. In this context, though, all that matters is that neither atheists nor agnostics believe in God.

What president would have looked at his oath of office and then allowed the CSA to walk away with a major part of the United States?

Besides. A country founded on the principle of slavery as a right? Seriously?

You'll not be surprised to find that I think your idea that I assume everyone is an authoritarian is absurd. I do think that humans have a human nature, crafted by evolution, that gives humanity a religious impulse. If you think that's authoritarian, that's your own bizarre take. The State (PBUH!) is probably the default Western god of choice for this age, although it could be many other alternates to traditional religions.

Although I don't think I actually hit a nerve with you (more of a reflex) your ranting certainly could give others that impression. Try to control yourself and come back with a more measured response...if possible.

That means they don't have one. They might have idols like political figures or celebrities, but no God.

No, you aren't. Free speeches the right to be offensive. Agreeable speech doesn't need to be protected.
    yes it does.
Sorry to break it to you. That's anti free speech.

Free speech protects what is offensive. No government ramifications are allowed.

You are totalitarian probably even a fascist.

    Yes.

God = a superhuman being or spirit worshiped as having power over nature or human fortunes; a deity.
or The creator and ruler of the universe and source of all moral authority; the supreme being.
