Ehhh, I sympathize with the prosecutor but it's not really his job to decide whether laws should be enforced or not. DeSantis was within his rights as the governor to dismiss him.

That said, I hope that those who agree the prosecutor was out of line would also agree with the same when DA's or LEOs decline to enforce laws they don't agree with.

If you don't like the law you work within the system to change it not decide that you get to decide for yourself which laws you enforce and which ones you ignore.

DeSantis is correct in this situation. It is the prosecutors jobs to prosecute that people to the best of his ability.

HE FIGHTS: Trump Called for Draining the Swamp. Now Ron DeSantis Is Actually Doing It.

Trump did too much mean tweeting and not enough swamp draining, though he was the best choice for that time and did a GREAT job reforming the judiciary. Now it's time for the Trumpster to pass the torch and take his seat of honor as a respected former president.

"Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis drew a line in the sand, announcing that he is suspending woke Hillsborough County state attorney Andrew Warren."

LAWS ARE MADE BY OUR ELECTED LEGISLATURES NOT WOKE CULTISTS.

"Ron DeSantis announced the immediate suspension of Hillsborough County state attorney Andrew Warren for consistent refusal to enforce certain laws. Accompanied by county sheriffs and law enforcement officers, DeSantis said Warren has publicly put himself above the law, citing Warren’s announcement that he would refuse to enforce any Florida laws limiting abortion in the wake of the Dobbs decision, laws against allowing children to undergo mutilating surgeries, and a consistent record of charges not being brought in violent crime cases."

No one is above the law, not even cultic woke prosecutors.

Trump didn't drain the swamp. "As a result, the FBI, the DOJ, and the U.S. military are still run by leftist ideologues who care more about appeasing the woke mob than protecting the country. And this week we learned that the IRS is stockpiling millions of rounds of ammo — and even machine guns. While Trump had the best of intentions, he ultimately wasn’t able to drain the swamp in any meaningful way before leaving office."

"DeSantis’ announcement today declares war on woke leftists in government who are “bypassing democracy,” and he's doing something about it."

Trump wrestled he nomination from Jeb! taught the GOP to fight, beat Hillary and now it's time for him to pass the torch and enjoy the applause of a grateful nation.

"The left started its long march through the institutions more than a half-century ago unimpeded and, for the most part, undetected by the vast majority of Americans. Trump succeeded where other Republican presidents had failed — in drawing attention to the swamp and calling out the entrenched government basement-dwellers who more often than not have more power than elected officials. DeSantis is picking up where Trump left off and taking it a step further by dismantling the swamp in Florida. Let’s hope other Republican governors have the courage to step up and drain the swamps in their own states. Trump and DeSantis are on the right track, but we’ve got a long way to go."

I lean conservative on many issues, from taxes to the size of government, guns, immigration, and very especially monetary policy. But I am pro-choice. Having said that, I agree with the Governor (who has done a fantastic job, and I say that as a Florida resident) that prosecutors don't get to pick and choose. We had one in the Orlando area who refused to even pursue death penalty cases even in the most heinous examples of crimes that desperately needed it, and she was replaced, too.

This guy probably should have kept his mouth shut because abortion is legal in Florida, and I personally hope (and believe) it will stay that way.

I don't know if you consider St. Pete part of Tampa, but I do, and you are missing out now. Between improvements on the Crosstown/Gandy, coming improvements on the Franklin and Malfunction Injunction, it's much easier now, and will be even more so in a few years. Although we have talked about cashing out on our home (which is worth over 3x what we paid for it in 2016) and buying a nicer place for much less money somewhere out in the sticks. Especially now that I'm disabled. But who knows.

If only it were only 8 more days. Please, go, and take everyone like you with you. I guess you like paying State Income Taxes, eh? Or maybe try NYC, where you've got City Income Taxes, too! Excellent choice!!

We won't miss you, or your vote.

    Some on the Right.

And those of us on the Right, unlike many on the Left who cheered while Democrats attempted to impose individual HI/HC mandates and vaccine mandates on us and our fellow Americans, have consistently defended the right to self-proprietorship, unlike those Leftist hypocrites who have suddenly discovered the value of that right and will abandon it as quickly as they embraced it.

And to flog the point to the bone and sinew, no woman should ever be forced to bring the ill-begotten seed of rape to fruit. That's immoral, if not evil.

DESANTIS SUSPENDS STATE ATTORNEY ANDREW WARREN, WHO INDICATED HE WON’T ENFORCE ABORTION LAWS.

It's the State Attorney's job to enforce the law, this cult clown won't, so, suspension is in order. Is this one of those Soros backed creeps?

I'm thinking this isn't one of those "catch and release" no-bail blue hell-holes.

"Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis suspended State Attorney Andrew Warren, who has refused to enforce the law and has let criminals get by easy in the 13th Judicial Circuit."

    That's not a good fit.

It get's worse. This Soros creep is friend of groomers: "State Attorney Andrew Warren, a Democrat, for vowed not enforce prohibitions on sex changes for minors or restrictions on abortion "When you make yourself above the law, you have violated your duty."'

NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW!

"Warren will not prosecute individuals who help children procure sex change procedures and that he will not enforce pro-life laws. He releases rioters and other violent criminals, refusing to prosecute them if it fit his own political agenda."

Yup. One of these lawless Soros creeps.

"In Warren's place, DeSantis appointed Hillsborough Judge Susan Lopez to serve as Acting State Attorney for the 13th Judicial Court."

Law and Order Prosecutor put in place.

"State attorneys have a duty to prosecute crimes as defined in Florida law, not to pick and choose which laws to enforce based on his personal agenda. It is my duty to hold Florida's elected officials to the highest standards for the people of Florida. I have the utmost trust that Judge Susan Lopez will lead the office through this transition and faithfully uphold the rule of law."

DeSantis is one of the good ones!

"DeSantis' press secretary, Christina Pushaw, specifically noted that Florida is taking aim at prosecutors like Warren who have been backed by leftist billionaire George Soros in order to enact socialist policies in law enforcement."

And that's how you deal with these Soros-pukes.

"Goodness it feels good to hear the term "rule of law" again."

"Innocent people are being terrorized by criminals who are allowed to run rampant in this nation right now by prosecutors who won't prosecute (unless you're a parent with concerns at a school board meeting, that is)."

"In our current Wild West, it's good to see that there's a new sheriff in town."

    We need him in DC!

Why do you live in a "craphole"? Lol, the average price for a two bedroom, two bath home in Yulee, FL., is $450k.
Yeah, not quite as expensive as San Diego, but my heart aches for you anyway. ;)

Democrats and most Leftists say government decides your health care, it's not up to you and your doctor anymore.

Individual HI/HC mandates and vaccine mandates for everyone.

There is no problem. Remember, the NY Slimes is the left's favorite go-to when they feel threatened by a rising politician. And DeSantis is that guy.

he can't suspend elected officials, overriding the will of the voters is wrong

he is a government official punishing a elected official for exercising his free speech

What does the % of votes he received have to do with anything? This sounds like it's more of a do-your-job thing than a popularity contest.

Do you even realize the irony in the above? Probably not. Trump was elected, but it didn't stop the Democrats from punishing an elected president for his "free speech"; mean tweets. It never stopped his entire four-year term in office.

This can be said any time a government official is impeached -- like Trump. :)
