Strange that liberal states like California and New York are leaving their utopia in droves for the "toilet of America". Maybe their definition of toilet is slightly different than yours?!

California loses congressional seat for first time
For the first time in its 171-year history, California’s political voice is about to get a little quieter.

After months of delay, the U.S. Census Bureau today released new population estimates for each state. The bad news for California: It loses a seat in Congress, down from 53 House districts to 52.

The worse news: Not only does that mean the state will have one fewer representative in the House, it also means one fewer vote in the Electoral College that decides the presidency and proportionately less of the $1.5 trillion in federal money distributed by population each year.

Florida Gets Another House Seat After 2020 Census Result
“Florida Gets Another House Seats After 2020 Census Results”
    Florida Daily

The U.S. Census Bureau announced the latest population numbers and Florida is receiving an additional seat in the U.S. House.

So, my understanding of your comments here and elsewhere is that the Orange Stain is, in fact, contagious and now everyone thinks they are above the law and can just blurt out anything into a microphone, pass random laws and be generally obnoxious and anti-Democracy?

And that was a fine reason to remove him from office, but it's not the only one in existence. County officials in Florida can (and should) be suspended (and fired) for neglecting their official duties.

It sounds there is a long history of this prosecutor subverting Florida law and not prosecuting violent crimes... I would say this was a judicious firing if he isn't following Florida state law. If we wants to give leniency to criminals, he should move to either California, Illinois, New York, Washington, Oregon or DC. They embrace crime is those states.

Its contagious indeed. In 2018 DeSantis ran almost exclusively on being pro-Trump.

Look at his campaign ad from back then. It looks like a joke, but its real. He idolized Trump. Now he is running for re-election and he is talking about.......China. How about Florida?

So today you can get an abortion up until 24 weeks. As far as this prosecutor is concerned, I'm sure we'll here more about the reasoning, it certainly takes more than a signed letter to remove someone.

I'm unclear why the new law is held up. 15 weeks with health exceptions and no rape exceptions after 15 weeks. I get the left wants rape exclusion but is it realistic that a women raped would carry the baby more than 4 months? Very confused at that notion that a women would want to carry a baby half of the pregnancy after a rape.

I watched 3 minutes of the CNN piece, and did not see a copy of the letter the man signed along with 80+ other prosecutors, though maybe she showed the actual letter in the last 3 minutes. I doubt it.

That the man works for Soros is enough for me given the current political climate and the records of various other Soros supported prosecutors.

Maybe the people of Hillsborough County will say they want to keep the guy around, but maybe they won't.

Well, if he refuses to uphold the law he should be fired. Period. I would be okay with it

They have claimed... and continue to claim that that Florida's education bill was falsely called the "Don't say gay bill" but CLEARLY obfuscating the facts of the bill, so lying about a ban on abortion in Florida does not surprise me one bit. The MSN continues to lie about darn near everything and and the viewers are finally starting to take note as their viewership continues to tank.

If the libs are all about the handouts like republicans claim, why not?

    https://www.newsweek.com/florida-sending-out-450-child-payments-families-combat-inflation-1726197

I'm more then positive he knows he won't win reelection, so is trying to get a presidential nomination. With so many on the left moving to Florida it may turn blue(Hint: That's the real plan)..he barely won over a crack head I heard.

    Well, he didn't refuse.

Now DeSantis has named the replacement, so the democratically elected official has been replaced by someone picked by a politician. The replacement is someone who was a strong campaign supporter of the candidate who lost to the fired lawyer. So, if you don't like the election results you claim fraud, or simply replace the winner with your own pick from your own party. This reeks of corruption.

If he isn't persecuting violent criminals based upon Florida law... then he is refusing to prosecute the law.

Lawyers be they trial lawyers to corporate lawyers to prosecutors do NOT have to join the ABA to practice law or serve as prosecutors. ABA membership is purely voluntary and only a minority of attorney's even belong to it.

"The American Bar Association (ABA) is a voluntary bar association of lawyers and law students, which is not specific to any jurisdiction in the United States. Founded in 1878,[2] the ABA's most important stated activities are the setting of academic standards for law schools, and the formulation of model ethical codes related to the legal profession. As of fiscal year 2017, the ABA had 194,000 dues-paying members, constituting approximately 14.4% of American attorneys.[3] In 1979, half of all lawyers in the U.S. were members of the ABA.[4] The organization's national headquarters are in Chicago, Illinois, and it also maintains a significant branch office in Washington, D.C."

It has no official standing with the government. If the particular attorney DOES belong to the ABA I don't that they will represent them in this type of lawsuit they do not act like a union.

Tampa is left, its voted democrat as far back as I could check county voting results.

Step onto the University of South Florida (its in Tampa) and tell me that place is 50/50 dem/Rep. USF is a cesspool of raving left lunatics.

Tamps also has a history of supporting islamic terrorists (Muhammed Momtaz Al-Azhari, Sami Al-Arian and company).

Hillsborough County has an anti-gun admin. The cops there used to arrest people with legally concealed carry weapons to harass them, that was the motivation for the update to the state pre-emption law passed in 2011.

You are soooo out of touch, clearly you do not live in Florida, certainly not Tampa.

    FALSE
The Hillsborough County Sheriff and Chief of police compiled hundreds of records of criminals being let go and crimes not being prosecuted and gave examples of 67 rioters in east Tampa from 2020 that he refused to prosecute. Warren falsified court records stating there were no acts of violence, no property damage.
Yet the police reports from Hillsborough County Sheriff provided photos of destroyed police vehicles and buildings.

    FALSE
In a public letter Warren promised not to prosecute women or providers who violate the state's 15-week abortion ban and he promised not to prosecute those who provide gender re-assignment surgery for minors
The Florida Legislature passed the 15-week abortion restriction and DeSantis signed it in April. Providers could face third-degree felony charges for breaking the law.

    FALSE
Under the state constitution, DeSantis has the authority to suspend state officials "for reasons of misfeasance, malfeasance, neglect of duty, drunkenness, incompetence, permanent inability to perform official duties, or commission of a felony.
This can be found under Article IV, Section 7:
By executive order stating the grounds and filed with the custodian of state records, the governor may suspend from office any state officer not subject to impeachment, any officer of the militia not in the active service of the United States, or any county officer, for malfeasance, misfeasance, neglect of duty, drunkenness, incompetence, permanent inability to perform official duties, or commission of a felony, and may fill the office by appointment for the period of suspension.

During his term, DeSantis removed four individuals from their office:
Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel following the deadly Parkland school shooting.
Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Susan Bucher following a series of controversies during the 2018 election.
Superintendent Mary Beth Jackson of the Okaloosa County School District after an investigation into child abuse and failure to report child abuse in the district
Port Richey Mayor Dale Massad after he was arrested and accused of firing at Pasco County deputies when they tried to serve a warrant at his home.

    FALSE
Warren is claiming up front he won't prosecute criminals under current Florida laws. Thats not Prosecutorial Discretion. Thats taking the law into your own hands.
    He has no such power

So were the 4 other removed members of Florida which is provided to the Governor under the Florida constitution

This sounds more like you prefer criminals being released from being charged over the safety of the public.
