    He is Russian bot, and it's like this in Russian parallel reality. There is full internet with Russian chauvinists stories, about how bad Americans are as solders, that they never fought and how Russia win in WW2 all Europe alone. Also, they did not count Ukraine as state and Ukrainians as nation, called Ukraine failed State and told, that they will crash Ukraine in 3 day war. It's very funny to see, how it turned out in reality, if we set aside the fact, that these morons are killing thousands of innocent people.

    To get more specific, Basic Training is 10 weeks for the US Army, then Infantry School (if that's what the soldier goes to) is now 12 weeks.

    That 5 months teaches the basics. Then the soldier goes to his unit as "the new guy", and experienced NCOs continue his instruction in the field. Russia doesn't have those NCOs.

    In contrast, the Russians are announced that some of the new conscriptees will get ... no training at all. They go straight to the front.

    Summary:

    It looks like Ukraine is starting another sweeping movement in the north.

    In the middle, Russia is making incremental gains, but at high cost.

    In the south, Ukraine is making small gains, at a high cost to both sides. It's totally flat terrain there, with fortified Russian positions, so it's hard to advance. The fighting is keeping the best Russian units occupied there.
