    So now that Ukraine has attacked Poland, can we talk about Article 5 again? When will NATO attack Ukraine?

    Because yesterday that was all the talk except it was about attacking Russia...

    And now SecDef Austin says it was a Ukrainian missile that went awry but it is ultimately Russia's fault for starting the war. He's clearly trying to have it both ways in order to please Zalensky who is adamant the Russians fired the missile that hit Poland and not one of his missiles that malfunctioned.

    Nato agrees with Poland's early assessment of Wednesday's missile strike - in that it most likely came from Ukrainian air defence.

    Speaking to the BBC, secretary general Jens Stoltenberg said "accidents happen" in war but still put the onus on Russia. He said Russia bears the "ultimate responsibility" saying "it would not have happened if Russia hadn't waged a brutal war of aggression against Ukraine".

    He emphasised the need for these type of mistakes not to "spiral out of control", adding that there are lines of communication between the US and Russia, and between Nato and Russia.

    Early 80's? I was at Babenhausen (small kaserne between Aschaffenburg and Darmstadt) 79-82... I came back bouncing all over USAREUR as part of a NETT (New Equipment Training Team) for Aviation Miles in 84.

    It could very well be the case that both the rocket zelensky hit and the rocket he used to hit it landed in Poland.

    But that's not my question. Using logic and reason, what do you think happened?

    Well it seemed pretty far out from the operational theater. It just didn't seem reasonable to me. Even as an accident, why would the Russians be firing in that area?

    It was a Ukrainian air defense missile that went wrong. My own meager expertise says so, and government sources are saying that now too. Pure accident, although it wouldn't have been fired in the first place if the Russians hadn't invaded.

    The Ukraine fired 2 s300, which missed their target and landed in Poland. Shiit happens.
    Russia has used air launched S300 to attack ground targets, they are not very accurate, when it comes to ground targets
