US military shoots down Chinese spy balloon over Atlantic Ocean

We all know that if this had been shot down and hurt someone Trump, the entire GOP and every fanatic on this board would have been posting furiously about 'Biden kills Americans' before the ambulance even reached the hospital.

 

That sounds like a really great excuse for having a feckless leader.

Bottom line, it was done the right way, at the right time, by the right leadership (or the left leadership... I never can keep MAGA arguments straight)

 

Because there was really a great danger of that happening while shooting it down in an area with about one person per 50 or 70 square miles....

But it is fun to watch you guys make excuses for what actually did or did not but finally did happen and spin all these what ifs, what might have happened....

I didn’t realize Trump was so pro-China.

 

If Biden had worked with the Republican governor of Montana to locate a place to bring it down and it did cause some damage or injured or killed someone it would have been a bipartisan decision and no one would have blamed Biden. This was a national security breach and everyone should have been behind the decision to bring it down. If NORAD had been tracking it it should have been shot down as it entered the western side of the Aleutian Islands while working with the Republican governor of Alaska.

 

That’s why it should have been shot down over the pacific.

What in the world does a Governor have to do with NORAD and our national defense? No President needs to talk to a Governor to protect us.

Dude. It is a foreign data collecting device from China over our airspace. OF COURSE you shoot the freaking thing down. That's a no brainer. I'm ok with a dialogue with China before hand but you go into that conversation in the driver seat. "I'm about to shoot this balloon down that's in our air space. I hope we don't find anything we would be upset over..."

Shooting down what is a clear violation of our airspace isn't going to trigger a war. It's expected. What would start a 20 year war?

Nancy Pelosi's needless visit to Taiwan to shove it in China's face publicly. That's more likely to sour relations and start a war.
