How America Took Out The Nord Stream Pipeline

Seymour Hersh, the greatest living investigative journalist, two-time Pulitzer-prize winner, responsible for breaking some of the biggest stories in American history, has just launched a Substack where he reveals US complicity in the Nordstream pipeline attack.

Not that this was ever in question. It was always painfully obvious that the US blew up the pipeline. But when a journalist of Hersh's caliber breaks the story, it makes it much harder for the US government boot-lickers and anti-Russian fanatics to dismiss out of hand. Not that they won't try, of course. I have no doubt they will come in and claim that Hersh may have been great, once, but fell into "conspiracy theories" later in his career. Some will probably accuse him of fabricating things. I guess people will just have to decide who is more believable and more credible: the greatest American journalist or the pathetic hacks trying to discredit him.

Either way, I'm excited to see Hersh is back to writing and reporting. His presence is desperately needed at a time when governmental and corporate propaganda is so pervasive and extreme.

And like every other kook, he doesn't present any actual facts or credible sources. Just a fanciful story that he feels fits the facts at hand and fits within his worldview.

Reuters has not corroborated the report, published by U.S. investigative journalist Seymour Hersh, which said an attack was carried out last September at the direction of President Joe Biden.

His claims are unfounded and facially absurd. He offers no evidence and no named sources. Those are his credentials, as far as I am concerned.

You can't even defend what he wrote. Did you even read it? You just keep trying to argue that we should believe him because of his credentials. I'm telling you that he has presented nothing worth taking seriously. No facts, no credible sources. Whatever his past credentials, he is not doing himself any favors with this piece.

When the NYT or WAPO cites "anonymous officials" in its stories, Durandal believes them without question and parrots their claims as if they're gospel. But when a legendary investigative journalist cites an unnamed source, suddenly Durandal turns into a massive skeptic.

I agree that there is nothing to defend. There is no substance to the article. It's one former journalist's flight of fancy, or perhaps even his retelling of what some GRU agent fed him as an anonymous source.

You can believe him based on past credentials if you like. The fact remains that he has provided nothing but what amounts to a personal opinion, assuming he is even being honest and believes what he wrote.

 

After all, you claim that there is freedom of speech in the US. And as soon as a person expressed an opinion that did not coincide with the official paradigm, a flock of ravens immediately rushed to peck him!

In other words, Durandal is totally fine with unnamed sources, so long as CNN, the least credible news agency in history, is the one citing them.

But when America's greatest living journalist cites an unnamed source, suddenly Durandal turns into the world's foremost skeptic.

 

What work? He didn't do any work. He just wrote a long fiction piece and here you are telling us all to believe it because, like, credentials and stuff.

 

Every time Hersh has broken a big story in his career, government apologists and hacks have tried to smear and discredit him. It's beyond predictable.
