Mike Lindell says he had to borrow $10 million last year to keep MyPillow afloat — and is running out of cash, too


Mike Lindell, the CEO of MyPillow, says he had to borrow $10 million in 2022 just to keep his pillow company afloat.

Speaking to Insider on Wednesday night, Lindell said that to keep MyPillow going, he borrowed "about 4 million in May, 2 million in the summer, and 4 million in September."

And on top of that, Lindell said he's personally been borrowing money to stay liquid, too.

"I sold a building I had in Savage, in Minnesota, in October," Lindell told Insider. "And I had to borrow 2 million too. I've spent it all on fighting for this country."

Lindell told Insider that some creature comforts — like his private jet, which had a door come off it in October — haven't been sold yet.

"I have to get around, you know," Lindell said.

He started from nothing, after building a company worth $150 million, Lindell will soon declare bankruptcy.

He'll never admit it, but all his woes stem from the fact that he's been around Trump and embraced the Big Lie.

I've found myself working for maniacs before, but never this bad. I'm curious to see what folks put on their resume as they flee that sinking ship.

He had more than 1,500 employees before the 2020 election.

He destroyed his brand image at an incredible rate.

His downfall will be studied in business schools for decades.

 

Lindell is his own worst enemy he's got a big mouth and he can't shut up. Which is sad because he'll probably go out of business and have to fire a bunch of people who had nice jobs with his company.

 

Of all the reasons to go broke, going broke to pander to Trump delusions of adequacy seems the the worst.

 

What’s to study? He let his personal interests get in the way of business. That won’t take decades to figure out.

It sounds like he’s going to default on millions of dollars of debt, to poor bastards that trusted him. That’s nothing new. The only way he remains interesting is if he somehow parlays this huge failure into the presidency. I really hope AmeriCANs won’t be that stupid …

I have zero problem with people voting with their pocketbooks on both side of the aisle. To pretend it is a one sided issue is ridiculous.

 

No, they ARE **** for pillows. My mother-in-law watches Faux News all day everyday; which is where Mike Pillow advertises. She got us a set for Christmas, Christmas before last. They were stupid expensive, reeked of cheap foam and, amounted to a bag of 1/2 inch reclaimed foam cubes. Most uncomfortable pillow I’ve ever tried to sleep on.

I don’t watch a lot of TV, but it looks to me like the right, not the left, abandoned him. Which is curious since he threw his business and his life away supporting tRaitor tRump.

 

One thing about conservative support...they sure do hate spending money.

 

Or that ya know, in a capitalistic society it's stupid to forget as a business owner, the customer mass is your boss.

As a salesman his best tactic after making a sale is keeping his mouth shut...He decided to get political for some reason.

 

I feel bad for the workers that will lose their jobs if the company goes under, but I don't feel bad for Lindell. He made that bed with his choice to help Trump try and steal the election.
