the Clinton Foundation did after Bill was president and before Hilary decided to run for president in 2016. But the foundation also returned $1 million from Qatar when she did run, and that was to the foundation in an election year. If it was not an election year and she was not running, it would have been okay to receive that per the law.

I guess you don't understand the difference between controversy and facts. According to your link, there was questions that arose, but nothing is proven. A congressional investigation ensured as well as a DOJ investigation. But in the end, you still have that 1990 DOJ memo that pretty much said that no sitting president can be indicted by the DOJ for crimes. The congressional investigation didn't even have enough proof to impeach Bill Clinton on that controversy in and of itself. Eventually, Bill Clinton was impeached on other issues after 7 years of GOP investigations, most of which had to do with a person named Monica Lewinsky.

Your wrongs don't make it right. Nowhere in your article on Wikipedia said that the FEC brought charges. My post was about the FEC only, and they only fined things. I also used the fine that Hilary did when she was running for president, in 2016, which should have been obvious even for you. And somehow you brought up the 1996 campaign scandal, or Chinagate, as it was loosely called.

 

So why was it still OK for Trump to do it, in your mind, when he'd been doing it prior to Biden's election?
