    Are protests illegal?

IMO, Trump cannot win on the "platform" he seems to be proposing. Trump would have to generate at least 60% support across the board to win.
Beyond that, no other Republican has any chance at all of winning in 2024 without an epic DP political blunder.
But many will raise a lot of campaign cash and keep much of it for their own personal benefit. ;-)

Trump has many flaws, but compared to the establishment party bosses he is a prince. All the mudslinging just makes the contrast more obvious.
Relax, he hasn't got much of a chance given the nature of our Political system.

I could not have made that any clearer, except by resorting to the very sad practice of actually writing "<sarcasm>." Did you not notice that I had stopped only 2 letters short, of spelling "accomplices?"

Nonsense. If repubs nominate a sane character who doesn’t pander to the maga fringe, he or she could win.

Trump would implode having a "gag order",
    Great entertainment,

'Threatening a prosecutor is a crime”: Experts say Trump’s Truth Social post could badly backfire'

'Legal experts say Trump could face a gag order, have his bail revoked — or even face additional charges'

    Norm Eisen

    @NormEisen

Threatening a prosecutor is a crime in NY. In fact MULTIPLE crimes: Harassment in the first degree NYPL 240.25; menacing in the second degree NYPL 120.14; stalking in the fourth or third degree NYPL 120.45 & 120.50 And that’s just for starters….

    snip:

"Former federal prosecutor Andrew Weissmann, who served on special counsel Bob Mueller's team, compared the post to a photo longtime Trump adviser Roger Stone posted of a judge overseeing his Mueller probe trial in crosshairs while he was on bail. Weissman tweeted that a judge may need to impose a similar gag order on Trump as the judge did in Stone's case after the post.

"Disgraceful," Weissmann wrote of Trump's post. "And meant to invite and incite violence. As on 1/6 and before."

I don't support the witch hunt, and I hope he loses the primaries.

Putin Impressed With American System Of Prosecuting Political Opponents.

MOSCOW — 'America has long been an example to the world but has finally caught Russia's attention with its system of prosecuting political opponents. According to reports, President Vladimir Putin is actively considering restructuring Russia's Ministry of Justice to follow suit.'

"This Biden man has merit," Putin told translators in a meeting with foreign journalists Friday. "When I make someone disappear it draws too much attention. It gets them out of the way, sure, but then people get suspicious of me."

"But digging into a man's life and prosecuting him for crimes that normally would not warrant such dramatic attention? Not only do you ruin their political prospects, but you also make the news all about them. People forget you exist. Genius!"

You'll still vote for Trump if he wins the primary.

That's the problem with MAGA, the political agenda comes before the danger Trump poses to the country.

This makes the MAGA an extremely dangerous political movement.

No surprise there, Trump's best buddy coming to his defense. And the MAGA "patriots" cheer him on.

I'd say, the guy who likes to poison his political opposition should be quiet about accusing others of prosecuting political enemies.

No I haven't travelled outside Canada since Covid 19. As for the United States my two daughters live there and grand-daughter and as far as I know the 1 year old does not own a gun yet but does think Trump is a deluded dangerous mentally ill fool and does not understand why he has people urinate on his hair or has orange skin. She also asked me if Melania Trump is a man. I said know she better not be because she has me fooled and I had an affair with her last year.

I still think the Trump agenda is very popular in the U.S. The problem is Trump himself. I just don’t think he’s electable.

Except the "MAGA fringe" is the majority of the Party. Unless you were distinguishing the MAGA fringe, from the rest of the MAGA voters; in which case the question would become your definition of "sane." But the GOP standard bearer does not figure to be a moderate, which is who would be the most likely to defeat Biden, if the person was also under 60 years old.

I am now thinking that, once the Trump threat has passed, and they see that you really can, never go home again, those in the GOP who have been most disenchanted with Trumpism-- many of whom have either left the Party, or remain, but are actively working against Trump-- will launch their own, more moderate Republican Party. They could call themselves, the RONIN: Republicans, Only Not In Name.

While this will be a minority Party, it could potentially be very powerful, in that if it deprived both major Parties from having the majority of seats in either Congressional chamber, which would be a very high probability, it would mean that neither Party would be likely to pass anything, without RONIN support! They would essentially be in the driver's seat, all the time, regardless if there were more Dems or Republicans. It would be as if they held an even stronger than the current position of Senators Manchin and (now Independent) Sinema, among the Democrats, and among the Republican House, they would have the current sway of Matt Gaetz, MTG, Lauren Boebert, Jim Jordan, & the Freedom Republicans.

The Jan6 even wasn't a protest - it was full on insurrection.

It had the OBJECTIVE of overriding the democratic decision of the American people.

Are you saying none ever deserved to be or was there simply no appetite for it? When Trump entered the political tank the sharks came out, not just looking for blood but, fabricating it if needed. What we're seeing today is the manifestation of the fear of exposure of their corruption. Trump has been the one President that really could expose them, because he was one of them. They just desperately seek a way to keep the power to expose them away from him.

Oh trust me… I’m for positive there will be violence. Even Andrew Cumo said this is politically motivated. This will breakout violently for sure
