Why not? I'm sorry that the 1st Amendment is such an inconvenience to your Communist ass.

"You" were not insulted. However, as I pointed out, liberals will complain about seeing people forced to listen to a prayer, a "captive audience" you called it. While not blinking an eye at using money forced from others to pay for their groceries.

It is all part of the warped-world hypocrisy required to be a liberal.

This is not a state sanctioned event so there is not a separation of church and state issue here. Do liberals want to ban prayer everywhere?

Americans are Free to practice their religion as they see fit. IN typical Leftninny fashion we see the fascist attempt to restrict the free pracice thereof, as guaranteed by the FIrst Amendment of the US Consttitution.

I agree no right are violated. But a lot of people are going to be offended and feel uncomfortable. Is that really what you want if you're a business? I just don't understand the why of it. After all, they will not be any less Christian if they do not pray before a race...

I assume it's a private event and sponsors are cool with it. If enough people complain trust me it will stop. NASCAR like all sports is big business. If they think a prayer will endear their fans to them then they'll keep doing it. My religious beliefs are personal so I don't really warm up to mechanical mass prayers in sporting arenas just before I cheer for cars crashing, but to each his own. It's a free country.

There is no "place" for prayer, dude. Anybody can pray anywhere that they choose. If I were a religious sort, I could pray any danged place that I please, and there's nothing that your rat's ass could do about it.

I don't think that's the correct way to use that expression.

You will note they pray for our troops and that the National Anthem is also sung at each race. You will also always see Military planes most often fighter jets fly over head. Nascar pays to have these military planes do a fly over. Nascar is about the traditions of this country that make it great. Nascar fans are very patriotic and expect a prayer and a flyover. Being patriotic is something the left does not understand.

You can turn off the TV or change the channel.

But, when the gay mafia decides to use the public thoroughfare for their sick and demented lifestyle parade, I can't turn it off or change the channel. Where are my rights to walk the public streets without having to see that kind of sick people parading around nearly naked doing grotesque and suggestive acts?

It is your place to determine what others do, and where they do it?

    Rather arrogant, wouldn't you agree?

Do they not have the freedom to pray before an event that might be life threatening? If you don't like it, change the channel.

    But praying doesn't protect them!

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_racing_drivers_who_died_in_racing_crashes

A lot of people listed there who are (sorry, WERE) Christians. I guess God just hated those guys, then?

Aboutn70% of Americans are Christians; NO ONE admits to being a Leftninny, so they are negligible, marketing-wise.

Clearly they believe prayer has power, and 10,000 people praying for the safety of the drivers will help protect them.

Are you under the impression they do it to annoy you?

You're right. But I'm not talking about private prayers. These NASCAR prayers are put over the loudspeakers. It's very different. I'm sure there are plenty of newbie spectators who go to these events who are just as clueless as I was about this practice.

if you dont like it then dont watch or listen, its simple. i dont like to watch golf or fishing on tv so instead of watching it and (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)ing and complaining like a little girl i just switch the channel and it makes everything better.

if they pray or not, nobody should have an issue with it since its not a state sanctioned or government affair. they have the right to do as they please and from what i understand its not illegal to have a prayer at a sporting event.

The people that are going to be offended and uncomfortable are probably not going to watch NASCAR anyway.

If they stopped the prayer before the race it would offend their fans...that would cost money.

No, you called it "religious fascism" and characterized it in a bunch of other liberally ignorant ways. You also had no apparent clue as to the time-honored tradition of prayer and sports here in the US. Are you an American ?

You may have been "clueless", but your OP is one of mockery and condemnation.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NASCAR_fatal_accidents

The last GN or Winston driver who died was Earnhardt, a decade ago. Mexico and modified don't count.

Care to guess when they started praying? It appears it might actually work...

They don't pray at every race either... really depends on region. Every racer I have ever known has some sort of superstition... some sort of ritual. Most of the drivers and fans are Christian. I don't know what the big deal is.

For the record, I believe in no spaghetti monsters.

Who are you trying to kid? This was an EVANGELICAL prayer, of which only about 22% of Americans identify with, according to Gallup. Another interesting tidbit is that only 9% of Americans who attend church on any given Sunday are evangelicals (who needs church when you can just go to a NASCAR event?). Soudls like you are living in that "alternate reality" lol.
