You can find all kinds of other examples of that exact same behavior from all kinds of other sources. That was just the first one that came to mind because there is currently an active thread going on this forum about it. If you're going to try to deny my point here solely because the random article I chose happened to come from Fox News (which came from someone else's thead originally), then you are not as honest or fair-minded as I had previously given you credit for. Because you are now taking the clichéd easy way out by shooting the messenger instead of actually addressing the topic.

And you're trying to change the subject and redirect the blame instead of actually trying to refute the initial point I made in my OP. I noticed you conspicuously left that part out of my last post in your quote and respond sequence. So I will ask you again.....

Do liberals treat other people with the same acceptance and respect that they expect others to give them? And if so, can you prove it?

Truth is the highest priority, I agree. But is it really truthful to say that any political ideology has a monopoly on the truth?

 

Respect is earned, that's why the left demands it. Nobody would give it otherwise.

 

Here's the problem, in the Conservative Christian View, we realize that we're all people are capable of incredible evil. Because of this, we want to LIMIT what the Government can do, and allow people the freedom to make whatever decisions they need to make for their lives and their families lives. We do this, just in case someone like Hitler comes to power, they are checked and balanced, and the amount of damage they can do is limited.

In the Socialist point of view, most people are good, but stupid as cattle. The only reason there's evil is because of the negative circumstances in which they grew up in. To top it off, they don't know what's best for themselves and you need a STRONG leader to make the RIGHT decisions. If only we would allow their strong Government, we would have an absolute UTOPIA. Crime would end, everyone would get along and no one would ever be compelled to do anything they don't want to do.

You see we're STANDING IN THE WAY of a Utopia, THIS is why they hate us. Because if we would just let them, they would make the world perfect.

USA is really conservative as a culture. Let's point a simple example: How many scandals for just showing a nipple on TV? That would be impossible to imagine in Europe, for example.

I read what Howard Dean is saying and wonder why no one on the left won't tell him the shut up. The man oozes hatred and he might not be any worse than Ted Nugent but he was a presidetnial candidate for the left. He's a hero for the left and the man is sick.

Howard Dean said, "I hate all Republicans." Find a person on the right who has said something along the lines of, "I hate all Democrats."

 

The OP says liberals believe respect is a one way street yet look at the responses of the thread and its mostly conservatives hurling insults at liberals. Looking at it I could ask, why do conservatives believe respect is a one way street? They are being guilty of the same things you are accusing the liberals for:

It's because liberals wrongly think of themselves as untouchably superior to everyone else and expect you to realize it. They support socialism due to a limited world view and a lack of understanding regarding cause and effect. They have a true lack of common sense that is unexplainable.
What socialism, fascism and other ideologies of the left have in common is an assumption that some very wise people – like themselves – need to take decisions out of the hands of lesser people, like the rest of us, and impose those decisions by government fiat.

The left’s vision is not only a vision of the world, but also a vision of themselves as superior beings pursuing superior ends. In the United States, however, this vision conflicts with a Constitution that begins, “We the People …”

That is why the left has for more than a century been trying to get the Constitution’s limitations on government loosened or evaded by judges’ new interpretations, based on notions of “a living Constitution” that will take decisions out of the hands of “We the People,” and transfer those decisions to our betters.

The self-flattery of the vision of the left also gives its true believers a huge ego stake in that vision, which means that mere facts are unlikely to make them reconsider, regardless of what evidence piles up against the vision of the left and regardless of its disastrous consequences.

Only our own awareness of the huge stakes involved can save us from the rampaging presumptions of our betters, whether they are called socialists or fascists. So long as we buy their heady rhetoric, we are selling our birthright of freedom.
