Egypt illegally holds American citizens and Obama does NOTHING.

President "Tough Guy" Obama, the Scourge of Osama bin Laden and Muammar Gaddhafi, is totally silent and meek as Egypt deliberately holds American citizens, barring them from leaving the country. And, of course, the hyperliberal American news media says NOTHING about Obama's invisibility on this intolerable action -- even though one of the Americans seized is the son of Obama's own Transportation Secretray, Ray LaHood:

President Warlord had no problem assassinating a diseased old wanker in his crappy "compound" with a bunch of women in Pakistan, and he was willing to completely ignore the War Powers Act in order to send a billion dollars worth of missiles against Gaddhafi even though there was no "imminent threat" to the United States from Libya. But this same Obama says and does NOTHING when American citizens are seized by Egpyt?! This stark contradiction in behavior may make perfect sense to all the goofy liberal Obama-lovers, but it sure looks like selective "bravery" to others. Do any of you guys remember Jimmy Carter and Iran illegally holding American citizens in the American Embassy in Iran?

There will be a lot of slow back and forth diplomacy on this one. Then in a few months, the administration will give some concessions to Egypt who will then release these hostages.

The Obama administration will hold a big press conference claiming victory and success and improved relations with the Arab world.

The Muslim apologists will us this as an example claiming that the US is "occupying the lands of Islam in the holiest of places, plundering its riches, dictating to its rulers, humiliating its people, terrorizing its neighbors, and turning its bases in the Peninsula into a spearhead through which to fight the neighboring Muslim peoples."

The prisoners will be happy to be home, but will have suffered through this imprisonment just so that both sides can unsuccessfully try to further their political goals.

 

Yes, because Obama stupidly lost Egypt to the crazy Muslim radicals we now have to deal with it as an enemy instead of an ally.

Maybe it would be a bigger deal if THOUSANDS of american soldiers were killed or injured in Egypt. Maybe?

 

The difference is that we got along with Mubarak.

That and the fact that in no way did Mubarak approach the inhuman practices of Saddam and his crazy sons.

 

Right- so Mubarak was our 'boy' and he wasn't as bad of a brutal dictator as Sadam Hussein. So you are okay with dictators, just so long as they aren't as bad as Sadam.

But I haven't seen what is illegal about this- it is slightly alarming but the U.S. prevents people from leaving the U.S. all the time. Passports are held, or people are put on 'no fly' lists without their knowledge.

This is much, much ado about nothing at this point.

And if it had been done under Mubarak and Bush, you would have just blamed the people for being in Egypt.
