    I don't think anyone in this thread questioned the poll. The people with common sense were just questioning the Washington Examiners lies. There is no evidence that the out of date poll numbers sited are wrong. It's just the partisan hack fantasy interpretation that is faulty.

    Reminds me of the 1980 election when Ronald Regan took out the Peanut farmer from GA

    Obama is Carter 2.0 but the right does not have anyone nearly as great at Reagan

    But it looks like it wil be Mitt's job to make Obama a one term failure

    After covering politics most of my life, I know that things can turn in an instant. Conservatives forget that Ronald Reagan trailed Jimmy Carter heading into the 1980 race. He even dipped in the polls near the end; his comeback forged on a clear victory in the debate.

    Having said that, Obama's failure to poll higher than he is, is surprising and should frighten his campaign staff. The economy is slowly, and we emphasize slowly returning but the unemployment numbers are deceptive...there are still far too many Americans struggling in part time and low paying jobs.

    And considering that Obama has been in election mode since the fall [at taxpayers expense] and has already started running attack ads, his numbers should be better against an unnamed opponent.

    And it must be remembered that this guy likes to get down and dirty, Chicago style politics of image over substance and bashing the other guy. And that plays. He has proven that in both his leadership run and his election campaign; what he did to Hillary was just sad.

    I will say, though, his image: the charming boy wonder is a bit thread bare. Americans are now seeing him for what he is, a tentative decision maker with wonderful hindsight.

    I would say that Newt has the chance to beat him as no president since Kennedy has won the election without having been perceived to have won the debate. And Newt will destroy him. Whether Mitt can? Now that's the question.

    Frankly I don't think Mitt would be any better as president than Obama, so either way it looks like another four years of disaster.
