China vs Philippine war , do you think china is being a bully?

Tension between China and Philippines over the Huangyan Island have grown. China has said all the Island is the China South Sea belong to China by right. Philippines dispute that the Huangyan has always been the property of the Philippines and is surprised by the sudden interest of China over this Island. Experts have found that China means to expand its wealth by drilling for oil in the Huangyan Island , due to reports by its own scientist's that its very rich in oil.
Philippines has sought to resolve the matter peacefully while China threaten's the Philippines that military action will soon be an option if Philippines doesnt back off it's claim to the Island. The U.S. has sought the role of peacemaker and is looking for a way both sides can avoid war , but recent threats by China's military have made it clear that only a military response may be the only course of action. Japan has recently reported seeing China moving into the South China Sea with Air Craft Carriers which only mean war is soon to begin.

I think China has always picked on smaller countries like Japan and Tiawan. They never seem to threaten large countries but are very tough with smaller countries.

 

Yeah, like US picks on I dunno, Cuba, Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, and many more. At least Scarborough belongs to.. well, China.

 

I haven`t noticed Tibetans falling over each other in a rush for Chinese rule either.

Of course it does for him. Some people just want to see the USA fall. They don't care how it is done or whatever negative consequences there might be to the action. As long the US gets 'one upped' or a black eye or is weakened in anyway, they will take it.

Many people see China as a savior, or as some kind of benign nation that wouldn't engage in any kind of interventionism at all.

There are also others who would be fine with interventionism by any other nation except the USA. They just hate the USA, plain and simple.

 

you do know china almost went to war with soviet in the 60s. so no they are not picking on small country. they are doing it for their own interest, just like we have our own interest in afahan etc.

1. few weeks ago philippine send in one of their largest warship newly acquired from US to chase off some chinese fishing boat.
2. in response to philippine warship, china didn't send in its navy, but send in cilivian ship to go up against a warship. if those fisherman were US citizen what are we gonna to do, are we just gonna send in civilian ship to handle hostile navy warship or are we gonna send in our own warship.
3. both china and philippine say they want to solve it through dialog. yet at the same time philippine ask all other ASEAN nation to join to go up against china, which pretty much all other ASEAN ignore it.


so is it china bully philippine? no i don't think so, like i said, if those fisherman were US citizen, i don't think we will just send in some civilian ship to counter a warship, well be send in our destroyer/subs.
its disputed area which china, vietnam, philippine, all claim it, and all of them has historical records on that area. traditionally its fishing ground for bot china and philippine. china has records about south china sea since ming dynasty 15th century.

That's more easy to attack smaller countries for them; I think now, China want be more powerful and use the poor or small country for that; there's a lot of Chinese people in Africa for exemple, now!

Well, if they attack Philippines, it can be very dangerous; if some big countries help Philippines, it can make a big war...

 

If we are to base the claims on the 200 nautical mile limit those islands will be under Philippine jurisdiction. If we are to base on historical claims China has the edge. Historically since the official making up of the Philippine nation by the Spaniards in 1600s, the Philippines have never officially claim those islands not even during the American period 1900 -1945.

The Philippines either:
1. Needs the USA to back them up 100% if not those islands will be seize by China.
2. The Philippines needs to resolve their internal corruption, strengthen itself economically that would translate to a more stronger and effective arm forces and political influence in the region.

Unfortunately, the Philippines neither have both it will be just a matter of time before they lose those islands. The Philippines is the weakest among all the countries that have put claims on those islands. Imagine this to be the SURVIVOR, the Philippines will get booted out first.

The Philippines is in a no win situation because China will provoke the Philippines to take the first shot, if the Philippines do not take the first shot then China will just move in to the islands and eventually annex them as part of China.

He orders that the entire island of Samar be converted into a "howling wilderness." He specifically orders that all males over the age of ten are to be shot. Step one is to burn the town of Balangiga to the ground.

Is this what the US has done to Germany, Japan, Viet Nam, Fallujah, and many other places?

In 1973 South Vietnam got into a naval battle with the PROC over Vietnam's portion of the Spartly islands, the South Vietnamese requested for the US 7th fleet to assist but the US trun down the request that resulted in the defeat of the South Vietnamese and the taking over of those islands by the PROC. After the reunification of Vietnam, the present Vietnam has been demanding PROC to return their portion of those islands, PROC has refuse to do so.

The same will happen, the USA will not respond to aid the Philippines if a naval war ensue, as long as the war is contain within the Spartly's without involving attacking the mainland of the Philippines and China the USA will not militarily aid the Philippines. The same thing happen in the 1970s when the Philippines surrender the Sabah island to Malaysia because the USA refuse to militarily fight with the Philippines.

Chances are a set of rules will be put forward that would also serve as an ultimatum for the Philippines to surrender those islands. The rule of war over the Spartly islands will be:
1. No nuclear weapons
2. No tactical nuclear or ballistic missiles
3. No attacking of mainland
4. Give all quarters to soldiers that surrender
5. The use of conventional weapons only

China's navy is too strong for the Philippines to handle. What ever resistance the Philippines will do will be symbolic and demonstration of their national pride for what is left of it

 

This is funny because we have a bunch of americans accusing China of being a bully and attacking smaller countries.

And its funny because america does a lot worse to a lot more countries.

 

Actually this isnt a thread of China being bullies , but of thier positions that last couple of years. In the last couple of years they talked tough to Japan, Taiwan, and now Philippines which are all small countries. I dont know why people keep bringing up the U.S. , Iam sure there are plenty of threads for that. Also for all those people who are history freak's , any country that has the power to dominate small countries usual does whether its in a small or large capacity. China , U.S. and Russia are in that position now , so all 3 of those countries are pushing everyone else around all over the world.

 

I guess it just so happens all the countries that surrounds China are small; Vietnam, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Burma, Thailand the few large countries such as India and Russia are also not being ignored by China.

Taiwan is at the moment still free because the USA have refused to give up Taiwan not just yet.

Has China invaded and bombed dozens of nations for over 100 years? Did China invade America?

Whatever you want to blame China for since the Communists took over is America's responsibility, because the US facilitated the Communist takeover.

The USA is only about 300 years old, while China is about 1000 years old and in that 1000 years history China has committed so much atrocities against itself, against its neighbours and against other nations. I guess if the USA was responsible in creating communist China then this would make the USA good then because according to your premise the PROC is a good country. That is why the USA will support the PROC (a good country) over the Philippines in the Spartly island dispute.

 

The issue is not about whether China is a good country, though in many ways, they are more Christian than we.

The issue is that we Americans were supposed to be the Shining Example on the hill, the New Jerusalem of human progress and accomplishment, "nature's God gave us unprecidented wealth and power and we are throwing it all away on our ego gods of war.

In other words, we leave China alone if they wish to take the islands from the Philippines, let them, if they wish to invade Taiwan let them, if they wish to support Syria Assad let them etc. etc. I understand your position but I do not support it. How can China be more christian then us when they dont allow religon in thier country and kill people who practice religon.

China is now the world's largest economy and unlike the US has real money .
Financially you are at its mercy and whatever brave face you now try to put on publicly , you will actually do as you are told .
A beggar can only rely on hand outs .

 

The US was sending drones attacks against the Philippines just a few weeks ago. I am sure China will find it hard to take anyone in the US calling it a Bly seriously.
