    No actually I didn't.
There has only been 13 documented cases of voter fraud.
    13.
For that you cons want to disenfranchise MILLIONS of Americans!

But you haven't answered the question,
    Why do it at all?

There is no 'fraud' certainly none that a photo ID or any ID would prevent, so why do it at all??
The ONLY reason is to exclude certain groups from voting. Groups that you KNOW will not have the proper ID, groups that you KNOW vote primary for one party over the other.
This is voter suppression, no way around it.
Voter suppression by the party that CLAIMS to stand for less Govt., more rights, liberty and freedom, and the Constitution!
How do you people sleep at night?

so you do not think that people should have to show ID to get on a airplane, buy a pack of smokes, or walk into the White House? Remember there is nothing in the Constitution that guarantees the right to vote

here is what Wiki has on the matter

The government only has an obligation to give a free ID if they require one. It's your responsibility to go and get it and your responsibility to go and cast your vote.

It is just another instance in life, so can you "discriminate" against people without ID as long as it is not voting? Can we deny people the right to buy liquour because they don't have an ID?

How about renting a hotel room? You do know that was one of the catalyst issues of the civil rights battles and was used to bring in Federal law enforcement, hotels refusing to rent rooms to miniorities traveling from another state. So if a hotel requires ID are they discriminating against minorities?

How about when one is exercising their right to keep and bear arms by going to Wal-Mart to buy a gun? You are REQUIRED to show a proper photo ID. Is this a plot to keep minorities from exercising their right to keep and bear arms?

I checked the Constitution, you do not have a right to purchase liquor or rent a hotel room. If you do not care for gun ID laws, then sue the government to get them overturned.

unless they are hiding something,or don't quite fit the requirements for one.Like ..hmmmm ..not being a LEGAL citizen?

Now that you mention it, the liberals I know will have twenty or thirty. "Why do you have twenty IDs?" "Why not? They're free."

Precisely why the complaints about voter fraud are so retarded. The popular vote means NOTHING, which means no amount of voter fraud can skew the results in any meaningful manner.

With all due respect, yes it does. The President isn't the only office on a ballot. There are representatives, Senators, state reps and state senators, local offices (town council, district judge, school board, ect..). Some of those elections come down a few votes and fraud can easily affect a result.

Thank you. To many people are trying to discourage people from voting. I think Obama and Romney are both awful choices that serve the same corporate interests. I know my 3rd Party vote is just a protest vote, but in many other elections and ballot initiatives my vote may mean more. Too many people ignore everything but the Presidential race.

I show you video, you claim it's edited. Any source I cite you will claim is liberal propaganda. Then you spout against a strawmen with "ALEC didn't exist in 1980", like anyone ever claimed it did. In 1980 the man that would later found ALEC said that.

Not only that, but many state ,and local propositions and laws are also on the ballot in November.
Voter ID is only common sense to thwart fraud.

For some, common sense is thwarted by feelings, often unfounded feelings.

Hey we agree on something. Too many voters are uninformed.

Voter ID laws only target a section of uninformed voters. I live in central Nebraska. Everything here is spread out and there is no public transportation. People need a drivers license. In urban (more liberal areas) this is not so. I really wouldn't say people in this area are any more informed though.

Um....did you watch the video? The editing is worse than a post WW2 Japanese monster movie.

Provide ONE LEGAL, ACTUAL VOTER who HAS NO ID,and CANNOT OBTAIN ONE...

Most can. It's an additional cost and steps. In no way an insurmountable hurdle. I think it's reasonable steps to vote. But steps many won't take. For those who wouldn't have one otherwise though, it's essentially a tax on voting. If you are required to have one to carry out your most basic constitutional rights, it should be free. And yes people who are registering people to vote should facilitate the process.

All the same, it is being used as a political tactic targeting specific populations of voters.
