    Hello,
I was just looking through the threads and I noticed that there was nothing about Anonymous, so I just wanted to hear people opinions on this group. Are they cyber terrorist or internet freedom fighters?

What is a cyber terrorist? They are not. It is just people that fight for freedom of the net.

Anonymous is not so much a group as a label people put on themselves. There aren't really any requirements for calling yourself Anonymous, I don't even think you need to be close to a computer. This means that people who call themselves Anonymous are a combination of people who have genuine concerns and have considered the options, as well as people who just want to pull pranks on people and everything in between.

Now terrorism isn't defined by being a good guy or a bad guy, a terrorist is someone who performs actions in order to spread fear ("terror") and Anonymous has certainly had its fair share of that. However, many of those actions (but not all), as well as others which are not designed to spread fear, are performed with internet freedom in mind, which I guess is your definition of an internet freedom fighter.

However, the tone of your question, including the dualistic response options indicate that you just want to hear if people agree with them or not. To that, I must give a similar and yet possibly unsatisfactory answer: I mostly agree with the cause, but not always with the actions they use.

They want freedom. Whatever desiring freedom makes you...that's what they are.

I don't see how the label 'terrorist' could possibly apply to them.

They have also stolen credit card information and released personal information that people do not what released. Not to mention when they feel self righteous enough to threaten going after things people pay such as the Playstation Network, such actions cause conflict and distress similiar to what terrorist do.
