Not a democrat, but the whole Gore/Bush thing was a debacle no matter what side you were on.

 

Only a liberal would equate poor to black and then call others racist. I guess poor white people are not effected or "disenfranchised" by the scary thought of having a state Id or drivers license.....

Bill Maher matters like the Whig party political platform. He's about as pertinent as the latest Andy Hardy movie.

 

I never realized that getting an I.D. was so extremely expensive and out of reach for those "poor black voters". What the heck are other states charging for an I.D.? I've never known anyone, poor or not, who didn't have an I.D. Maher and liberals are acting like we are forcing people to purchase a plane ticket to Bermuda. Geez people, it's a freakin' ID and is less than the price of a case of beer.

 

Bill is an idoit and make money out of saying stupid things. There is nothing wrong with have to show and ID so we know who if voting. Try cashing a check without one.

Voter Id thread I mentioned, was vivisected as people tried to find the 750k voters that were too X or Y to be able to vote. I still can't find them. Unless your X was 'disgusted by politics today.' I'd appreciate constructive criticism to refine this list I've compiled, but I fail to see racism, class warfare, or political subterfuge in this issue. Best of luck.

 

Not during this administration, America has returned to being politically correct, and going out of their way not to offend anyones sensibilities.

Maybe if Romney Ryan were elected, that would hold true again.

 

Why say this is about race? Why would Blacks have it any harder getting an ID more than anyone else? Especially when they are free.

I think the Left just doesn't like any road blocks to voter cheating.

 

Because the Leftists running Uncle Sam's Plantation think that blacks are too stupid to obtain IDs....or so they say.

 

Dont you need to have an ID to cash a welfare check? To drive a "Blinged" out Escalade? To buy beer, cigarettes, pawn shops, and store refunds? Any adult who says they dont have an ID is suspicious to say the least..

 

Thats different, we make sure we have our ID ready for free lunches paid for with welfare, thats a survival instinct so we don't starve. The difference here is voting for democrats to keep those free lunches, its something we have to go out of our way to do, and if we forget our ID it won't matter.

Also, it helps illegal immigrants have voting rights, since they work here and deserve the same rights as Americans do.

 

I guess you have missed all the threads started by conservatives about race on a daily basis on the forum. I would guess if you looked at it in a truthful manner you would see that the majority of threads about race are started by forum conservatives.

How many cases where there of voter fraud in the last few elections?

They are not doing this because voter fraud is a rampant problem that needs to be eradicated. So what other reason is there to do this?

 

The actual number? No one knows, because the people who commit voter fraud don't intend to be caught in the act.

What do we have to lose by enacting laws that protect against voter ID? Why would anyone be against it? If you're here legally, then you shouldn't have a problem voting.

 

The answer to the question is next to none. That is how you know they are doing it for other reasons. You know why they are doing it and so do I. I don't really care one way or the other but let's not pretend we don't know what is going on here.

 

I dont know, but Bill Maher is the one who sounds racist to me. Poor, black voters? Way to reinforce a blatant racist stereotype. Is he implying that blacks are incapable of getting a voting ID?

The law cannot be racist, there is not a word about race in it.

And you're right I know why they're doing it. They're doing it to make sure elections are conducted fairly and safely from here on out. To assume it's because of racism is a far-fetched assumption, and I'm not one to believe silliness. To me it's just another way for the democrats to play the race card and label republicans as racist to garner that minority vote by saying "See! Look! They're racist!" Which says to me that the democrats are classless and will do anything to get elected by making up stories and making mountains out of mole hills. It's the dumb that play into that sort of campaigning. And it's sad frankly, because all the republicans are doing is pushing for clean fair elections so that dead people can't vote and foreign nationals aren't added to the ballot box.

Non-U.S. citizens voting I believe is considered a national security threat. And if it's not it needs to be, because I don't like the idea of the foreigners deciding who our elected officials will be. The world we live in is still a very, very dangerous place.
