The lack of choice comes from human nature, not any particular government.

If we were a poor nation with less technological development, and say... Pakistan was the most powerful country on the planet, they'd be making drone strikes against us.

Because Europe advanced faster than a lot of the world, we have the current situation. Had a different part of the world been ahead of the curve, we'd probably be speaking a different language and following a different religion but still dominating the world militarily.

Geography has a lot to do with our situation as well.

Iran is still building Nuclear weapons.
Syria is still killing its own people.
Hamas, Hezbollah, is still rocketing Israel
Our "Allies" are killing us in disguise in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan
Our Embassies, SOVEREIGN UNITED STATES TERRITORY, are being attacked all over the middle east.
The Arab Spring and the Brotherhood have flipped the idiot obama the finger. They choose islamic terrorists over the idiot b.o.

The unprepared, inexperienced, ideologicaly rigid, incompetent idiot obama rants hysterically about a non-existent "War on Women," And does not allow the words, "War on Terror," to be used. WHILE AMERICANS ARE BEING KILLED BY THOSE TERRORISTS.

And the left wing lamestream media writes about Romney complaining about the administration CONTINUING to apologize. They ignore Americans being KILLED, and complain about Romney criticizing the buffoon obama.

And NO movie, book, or video had ANYTHING to do with these attacks. They were pre-planned terrorists attacks ,"CELEBRATING" the 9/11 Anniversary.

 

Look who is talking about an "act of war". The same kind of people who bombed the King David Hotel and tried to blame it on others, or blew up the US embassy in Egypt and tried to blame it on others, or the Israeli attack on the USS Liberty, and tried to blame it on Egypt.

 

Ludicrous beyond belief. Evidence, proof, please. Actual, verifiable evidence, not some total wackiness from idiots lost in neverneverland.

 

We didn't depose Khadafi.. and the Ambassador wasn't tortured.. No one knew his identity and he was carried to the Benghazi Medical Center.

The director/producer of the movie was a Coptic Christian in So California who also kites checks.

 

They were protesting the movie, but the killers were a 20 man group of assassins on orders from al Zawahiri. The marines are going after them southeast of Tripoli.

 

These were planned attacks, celebrating 9/11. NO movie had anything to do with these MURDERING insane phony religious terrorists.

 

Morality is relative. That's why whether or not we're "better" is completely subjective.

Even people who claim to be absolutist are still actually relativist in behavior, because situations mold our behavior.

You can think of every nation as an ugly beast if you like, but I'm more concerned about the sustainability of a policy than its morality.

I think we should intervene less not because it fits some moral code but because interventionism is counterproductive to our long term interests more often than not.

I'll let others debate the morality of it.

Why you believed in a "greatness" to begin with is a mystery to me.

Humans don't act with "greatness." Only on rare occasion does any society or individual act in a way that isn't self-serving.

That's why rational self-interest matters and scripture doesn't.
