Long-term (it certainly will take years), a DEMOCRACY, where most of the people are modern Secular Humanists, is the only solution. A dictatorship means you don't really care about those people. A democracy run by Muslims(?), we're already seeing how failed that is (Iraq, Libya, Egyp, etc.) Democracy and MSH are the only real permanent long-term solutions to the myriad of problems in the middle east.

 

I think Obama should instruct the CIA to identify the perps (they'll be bragging about this at the mosque no doubt) once identified, have them assassinated. Maybe a good poison like ricin or better yet some radioactive material that can be traced back to the US.

The film was produced by a Zionist in the almost certain knowledge that it would incite the kind of reaction that ensued. Libya is a prime illustration of what US liberation has meant in the ME in terms of increasing the influence of Salafist fundamentalism in the region. The ambassasdor's death will now be used to justify increased logistical, perhaps military, US-support of the Syrian 'rebels' in addition to increasing Israeli sabre-rattling in respect to Iran. The Zionists have achieved their goal and more fool the Islamists for falling for it.

 

There is an upside to this though. It doesn't take much thought to make the connection that the Libyans who did this are similar to the rebels in Syria. A lot of Americans will likely question our support for Libya's rebels and do the same with reference to Syria's.

This may not translate into a difference in policy, but it will at least inspire more of the public to question our influence in Syria.

 

I think we have to worry less about his apologism and more about his hawkish policies. Obama has shown us that it doesn't matter if a Republican or a Democrat is president -- either one will get us involved in conflicts that mostly end up making things worse.

 

Amidst populations that are largely illiterate, a dictatorship is preferable to democracy -- especially if that dictator serves our interests.

Now that the Arab Spring has occurred and we've foolishly tried to capitalize on it, the future of our business and diplomatic relations in this area is bleak.

More than anything, we need to move away from foreign oil dependency -- at least when it comes to the Middle East.
