How do you make that argument with a straight face? I'm ass deep in Israelis over here including my boss and what they want is Jerusalem and the Palestinians gone. They would happily pay for them to be moved to Saudi or somewhere else, but to say they want to be "left alone. period" is just not the case. Not at all.

An honest answer is that they don't trust the Palestinians and want them out of Israel.

I think twenty years ago you could say that, but the Palestinians no longer are even a semi-peaceful people. After the Intifada of 2000 everything changed. You have school kids being taught about war and Jihad. The The Israeli Jews and Muslims are now locked in internecine struggle. Go there and you will see this.

I suppose I'm more comfortable with Mitt saying this about a people governed by terrorists than I am about Obama telling the President of Russia that he will have more wiggle room after the election to negotiate. I'm not commenting on who is right and who is wrong, but the reality of the situation which is that there is no peaceful solution because we are past that point where either party will give an inch.
