As long as the gross injustices and inequities exist, OWS (or whatever it will be labeled next) will mutate or morph (until it has the proper/necessary effect).
Sure it will.....I just hope they now realize they have to play dirty as well. I hope they have something really big planned for the best possible effect.
I think the next approach and effect will be political in nature. And I also believe the "street" version of it was important to SHAKE that Tea Party nonsense lose from the consciousness of Americans. In essence, it was (at least) saying that the Tea Party (and many on the Left) wasn't saying/discussing all that needed to be. The political pendulum was being HELD (unhealthily) to the Right for a long time... now, the political winds are shifting a bit more vigorously back toward the Left.
Kokomojojo, Whether or not law enforcement agencies are constitutional or not is far beyond the point that I made. Provocation from both sides is the focus and when either side engages in said behavior, it educes the cause of the offender as null and void. If you know how to comprehend the English language, I did not say that the cause as a whole is rendered null and void, I stated that the cause of the offender is rendered as such. To address the issue of one stealing from another, that is wholly and completely the doing of the political classes, their voting activities as well as their ineptitude.
Umm... This story is taking place in San Francisco. There was no police action against Occupy Protesters in San Francisco. The San Francisco City council strongly supported OWS and did everything they could to make the protesters more comfortable.
Wall street and business could care less about people camping out in protest. It has no effect on them. Your buying power and where you put your money does and is what they listen to and understand.
It doesn't shock me that Wall Street isn't a part of the conversation that most Americans would have. But the reality for the truly elite, is that the will of the people can and usually does find its voice; and that changes things in a society. In other words, Wall Street can 'ignore' the people for awhile... but they won't be willing or able to do that for ALL time.
There was a lot of antisemitism in OWS and they actually had to install a rape counseling tent for the multiple women that were raped by OWS gangs. If you didn't know that, you haven't been listening.
