I happen to be on my 3rd wife too. Stuff happens. People grow apart, people cheat, people become addicted to alcohol or drugs, sometimes people split for financial reasons or because their priorities change. Doesn't mean they are bad people. I hold no grudges against my ex's and are on good terms with them. The fact is, we had a president that cheated on his wife, while in office, in the Oval Office. That bar has been set pretty low, so I don't think Newt can get lower than that. Clinton was accused of raping women, but many still worship him today. What is important is that we do what is right to get this country back on the right track. That is to get rid of Obama.

Newt is a face of republican corruption as far as liberals are concerned and democrats are not so unhappy with Obama as to vote for Newt. He could win the primary but has no chance to pick up enough independent voters to even have a chance to win against Obama.

Not to mention there is a large group in the republican field who would never back newt even against Obama. So sure he might get the primary but the GOP will lose the white house for another 4 years.

See, I've known Newt since before he was in politics, at West Georgia University. I think I know him just a wee bit better than most. He was a pompous, treacherous, ass back then, and he's even worse right now. What you are saying is he managed to fool a lot of fairly stupid people, which is easy. But if you know him like I do, you wouldn't elect him dogcatcher.

You are not taking into account that people can change. Perhaps he is wiser now. Perhaps he has had an epiphany, along with his religious conversion, he has discovered a purpose for his life. Should you not give him the benifit of doubt? Nobody is perfect, and the last time I checked, Jesus Christ is not on the ballot, so you will have to vote for someone who has flaws and human frailties. Perhaps you can and should vote for someone who has made mistakes and has learned from them.

geezer, as was just pointed out to you "people change", but with the exception of his personal life (has already atoned for) I hope his outspoken attitudes in Politics, along with an unabashed conservative attitude of American History and the CONSTITUTION on public display for near 40 years, has not. We need that in our Executive Branch today more than ever.

Will those ideas get him Elected? Maybe. Are those ideas what he really believes? Maybe. Does his record prove that those ideas are something he follows? Nope.

Hmm...you guys are really foolin yourselves if you think Newt will ever be president. He won't even get the nomination, but if he did there's no way in hell America would put him in office.
Romney will get the nod, becaues he's the least insane of the bunch. Then, Obama will win another four years. You can take that to the bank.

Roelath; Gingrich is a professional politician that just happens to speak his mind, which to me is refreshing, even if I don't always agree. As for what he believes, it's based a an historical understanding of this Republic, also refreshing and I believe he will administer the Federal accordingly. In comparison and the point, Obama wishes to subvert the Constitution and the authority given the executive office.

LibertyRanson; Of course things can change between now and the election(s) but it's looking very good for Gingrich and as has been for 5 years now Romney is stuck on a favorable 20-25% of those polled, just as Paul has been stick on 15%.

As for Obama's chances, he will take the blame for a second consecutive election with Republican gains, primarily at the district and State levels, but also the Presidency and Senate control, possibly even a filibuster proof Congress.

I will support any Republican nominated including Romney and feel this election will be a referendum on a "National Single Payer" healthcare system (the goal) and fiscal responsibility.

Both Clinton and Newt make bad decisions, repeatedly and do not learn from them. Neither deserves to hold any elected office for they are not capable of making good decisions.

You mean like writing bad checks..withholding evidence from congress?
    Little stuff like that ?

Withholding evidence from Congress should be the RED FLAG with both Clinton and Gingrich. If they got away with it before..just as Obama has what is to prevent them from doing it again.?

Transparency means with the AMERICAN PEOPLE...not just the ones who voted for you..agree with you..but with ALL AMERICANS.

Your GOD will judge you later..
How can we judge politicians if they withhold evidence and cheat ..and have dozens of lawyers spin it away.
    God knows the truth.
    We dont.

So I am voting for the least Corrupt man who has held the executive position of POWER and didn't cheat..lie or get caught up in ANY scandals.
You may not agree with Romney..but you cannot argue he is a cheater.

    Romney / ?? Pawlenty Christie..Rubio...2012.

    Obama got who ?

If your talking about Newt being a running mate for Paul that will never happen.Paul knows all too well Newt is corrupt as hell and only wants to serve the establishment. All of the candidates other than Paul are only interested in serving the establishment.

Who wants to bet? I will bet 1000 dollars, that Newt Gingrich will not be the next president of the United States. Is anyone interested in taking my bet? He has so many skeletons in his closet that defaming him will be so easy, Obama could literally spend the next 11 months smacking babies, talking about his hatred of the flag, and telling soldiers they are worthless, and he would still have a good shot of beating gingrich. On top of his skeletons, he doesn't have the looks, the charisma, nor the political discipline to win a presidential election. If Republican nominate him, they are basically saying "we don't want to win, here Obama have another 4 years."

You mean withstanding 83 trumped up ethics charges? Only one survived and with that all he did was pay the cost of the investigation which discovered that of two identical filings they made a mistake on one of them?

    More at the link.

Oh THAT's rich, Maxine Waters judging someones ethics?

Not even close!! The worst predictions were by the Paul fanatics!! Gingrich at least had an outside chance of winning the nomination, and then if things really went to (*)(*)(*)(*) in the country, would have had a chance to beat Obama. Alternatively, Paul never had any chance at all of winning the nomination, and even if he had, he would have gotten DESTROYED in the general election. Yet so many of the Ron Paul fanatics kept telling everyone how he was going to be president.

PS. It is understandable to think Ron Paul would make a great president(I disagree, but like him more than Obama or Romney), but it is not understandable to delude oneself into thinking he actually ever had ANY chance of winning.

Obama is almost certainly going to win. The Republicans nominated a weak candidate, and basically gifted reelection to a very vulnerable incumbent(sort of like the Democrats did in 2004). I imagine they think that because the incumbent is weak, they simply need to nominate some one unoffensive and plain, and they will win just by NOT being the incumbent, except of course, that doesn't seem to work!!
