Christy is trying to sink BO. Why do I say that? Look at facts: 1. He toyed with whether to run for 2012 and decided to wait (until 2016); 2. He was given the honor of making key note speech for Romney and who did he try to help? Romney? No. Himself. It was all about HIM. Nothing to really help people's opinion about Romney or to help get Romney elected. 3. Before the 1st debate, when EVERYONE was trying to tap down expectations - after all, that is what YOU DO - what does HE do? He gets on every news station and states it will be a game changer...Putting a bigger burden on Romney to perform well. 4. Then with the Hurricane - he hugs and kisses BO, gets on TV and tells anyone who would listen, how WONDERFUL BO was handling the storm. BO got his photos w/Christy and then took off and the people there are still suffering. What does all this add up to? Christy doesn't want Romney to win. He wants to run in 2016. He knows Romney will not get a second bite at the apple if he loses this time. If Romney wins this, Christy will have no real chance to run in 2016. So IMHO, that's what was really behind the big bear hug to BO. And I for one, would never vote for that selfish prik.
BO was obligated to give $$. He couldn't do anything more or less. Christy didn't need to do that for his state.
I live in Jersey and did not vote for Christie but think you have it wrong. He was asked about this yesterday and in Christy fashion was blunt. Said just because he acknowledged the President he reminded everyone who he was supporting and voting for and that was Mitt Romney. Is Christy ambitious sure but he is also right now head of a state that has been slammed and is just doing his job as Barak as president is.
He didn't have to lavish the praise and have a love fest like that. It was over the top and he knew it. Yeah, I heard his excuses and giving himself a pat on the back for being blunt and blah blah blah. Actions speak louder than words sometimes. He's an ass.
Christie has been able to do some good things in NJ by non-partisanship appeals.. There's a fascinating success story in Newark.. yes Newark from last year re: non-prtisan job creation.. If I can find it I will post it for you.
If Obama wins this, Chris Christie will not be forgiven for his embrace of Obama at such a critical time. If he runs in 2016, he will go down in swift defeat.
I knew it wouldn't be long for the dogs to attack their own. Christie is toast. He committed an unpardonable sin in the party of tolerance. About the only thing he could have done worse is suggest a tax increase to get the deficits down.
Christie is not so blinded by his partisanship that he refuses to do what is right for his people because it might not be what is best for party, that is why people like him. When extremism prevails the best ones are always the first ones to go.
Turns out, I was right. BEFORE Hurricane Sandy and the big bear hug, Romney's inside polling had him a little ahead in Ohio and other states. After the big bear hug by Christy and all the compliments lathered on BO by the fat head - that weekend before voting day, Romney's numbers in Ohio slipped by 5 points which is why they went to PA. Nationwide MR numbers fell and BO rose as well. Christy knew what he was doing and seized the moment. Now guess whose names are being floated for the next run in 2016? Among the others - Christy. I will sit home if he's nominee or I'll vote the libertarian candidate - what's his name. But he'll be too old by then. Maybe they'll have another one by then. If we all are still here then of course. Maybe the world IS going to end in Dec. 2012 after all now that BO got a 2nd term. Un-freakin believable!
Romney's "inside polling" must have been as delusional as their "de-biased" poll rewriting of the actual polls showing him behind. A triumph of belief over reality, which bit him.
Your exactly right. Chirsty should have left Obama standing at the airport to get his photo-op by himself. I think Christy has been listening to far too many Bruce Springsteen songs and has now chosen to lie down with the enemy.
Interesting hypothesis, though this purported master plan of Christie's will likely backfire since the Republitard party now hates his guts.
Ths is what is wrong with the GOP today. Fix this attitude and the party can recover, let the radicals prevail and the GOP will fall further and further into obscurity.
Are you talking about the inside polling that Romney relied on because it was favorable - instead of the polls everybody else in the country was relying on - but turned out to be wrong and caused him to be "shellshocked" to find out he had lost? I hope you all keep right on eating your own with such hatred and vigor and driving the best from your party like you're doing now. It will just ensure that you'll NEVER win another election with the dregs you have left.
Actually what will happen is the intolerant, irrational, right-wing whackos will get kicked out of the Republican party (or maybe they'll "self-deport" themselves), and Chris Christie will drop 150 lbs. in preparation for his run at a 2016 nomination. And he may just win it.
