Well think about it, if socialism is redistribution of wealth so that government takes care of everyone, why should Karl Marx have a responsibility to his own children.

What Karl Marx and socialists like myself believe, is that our children belong to everyone in the community, so feeding them through government subsidies like food stamps is like family style eating in a way.

I think liberals are just very big on language. "Socialism" carries with it a negative stigma. Sure, some liberals go around calling themselves "socialists", but the more clever ones now hide under the banner of "progressives". It doesn't sound quite as nefarious, at least not immediately.

If there are freebies given out by Obama I will get in line. I'm not a young person starting out so I really don't care.
