Do you remember when sarah Bradey in an earlier version of the VPC claimed 14 'children' are killed every day by guns, a claim that was repeated constantly by media and pliticians for a few years until someone bothered to look up the data and found that for the claim to be true, one had to include 'children' up to age 26, gange members, and drug cartel members...poor innocent 26 year old 'children'...

 

He was a serial killer, and he could have just as easily killed his victims with a knife.

If you had bothered to read the posts leading to my reply, you would have seen that I was responding with an example of someone who, despite his horrific crimes, was found to be sane and fit to stand trial. Method of killing was not the point.

 

Lot less hassle simply shooting away though. Knives can be messy and inefficient.

If gunman is not immobilzed by these shots, and somehow, shows miraculous superhuman strength, escaping the nets as well, 3 shots will be fired which hit him in the head, killing him with certainty.,

 

You cannot stop mass murders. All you can hope to do is limit the body count and the best way to do that is to increase the possibility that there will be some on on hand that can shoot back accurately and in a timely manner.

I propose that Congress ban and remove gas operated magazine fed semi auto high capacity rifles, and make their possession a felony, and start arresting all the yahoo's that own one, the minute they show it in public.

Same thing as they do now for submachine guns, automatic rifles, and machine guns.

Then by relying on the Heller decision, we can defend ourselves with our handguns.

Because truly the only thing that will stop a bad guy with a handgun is a good guy with a handgun.

A good guy with a handgun does not stand a chance against a bad guy with a semi auto high capacity rifle, submachinegun, or automatic rifle.

LaPierre's statement plays with logic with a play on words about firearms. LaPierre's logic is therefore nonsense.
