I can't say that I'm surprised. Yet, a nation that still has a blasphemy law on the books is laughable. Thankfully, the accused live in a country that allows freedom of expression. I saw clips of the film in question on YouTube. It's a waste of time and energy, but sentencing someone to death over it's creation? Come on...
I read something of interest two days ago. It seems an Egyptian Imam on TV said if capital punishment wasn't issued for apostasy, Islam wouldn't exist today. What surprised the person who heard it was that the Imam was not embarassed over the failures of Islam as a faith, but took pride in the way it punished those who opposed it. This has to make one wonder if Islam is a faith or a political doctrine and uses Allah to emphasize a cultural supremacy over others? If so, then anyone who denies Islam has to be a traitor and deserved of capital punishment.
The fourth sentence is simply incorrect and very much a blatant lie. I think that you are getting your Muslim countries mixed up. Not all Islamic countries are alike. Furthermore, criminal cases are under the French system not sharia in Egypt.
