Well, the year is nearly ended, so it is time to check in with the final results of the most important competition on the calendar: Which cable news network had the most viewers this year? Don't you just lie awake thinking about that, most nights from about, oh, Halloween on? Boy, I know I just can't stop wondering who will come out on top. Though, as it turns out, I'm foolish to worry or wonder. It's Fox News. It's always Fox News. Or at least it has been for the past eleven years. Yes, Roger Ailes's dream machine is once again the most-watched 24-hour news network in the land, averaging 2.071 million viewers in primetime for the year. That's an 11% increase since last year, likely because of that big dumb election that they couldn't win no matter how hard they tried. In second place was Current TV — no, of course not, just kidding. Second place was MSNBC, for the third year in a row, jumping up 18% to 913,000 viewers. So that's a big gap, between one and two. And then it's an even bigger gap to poor, sad number three, CNN, which trundled in with 670,000 sad viewers, which is down 3% from 2011. Yeah, they went down during an election year. ("Never go down during an election year." — Monica Lewinsky. Haha. #90sjokes) That's pretty bad! And pretty good news for Fox, which remains way far ahead of the pack as always, and will win and win and win until all of its audience dies. So, in like ten years or so. Ah, well. [Deadline]

All news networks around the world are going to be bias in one way or another.. the point is that their sources are examined, not the networks themsleves. Just read up on whatever that they are saying their article is "according to"..

Like they could say Assad massacred a trillion people, and after a few paragraphs they might mention that's according to Hillary Clinton spouting off her usual bull(*)(*)(*)(*).

News is a secondary source.. You can trust any of them, hell even Alex Jone's crazy bull(*)(*)(*)(*), if you follow it up that is.. Half the time it's nonsense, but half the time it leads you to a primary source and you've got some actual news now after all.

I never saw a big win and couldn't figure out why Fox and many others were predicting one. I said so several times before the election "Don't count your chickens before they hatch" and said this afterward.

I can't understand why Republicans were so surprised

It seems like many of the high ranking Republicans were shocked at Romney losing, including Romney himself. Sort of shows how out of touch the leadership is in the Republican Party. I remember many on this board were proclaiming a Romney win and I said then, don't count your chickens before they hatch. I could see where the Republicans were making some big mistakes in not touching on some of the things I knew were important to many of the American people. The biggest being health care. I am sure there were large numbers of Republicans who voted for Obama, just because of the health care issue. Republicans kept hammering on doing away with health care, but did next to nothing to tell the people what they would replace it with. They said they had a plan for health care but never really brought it out.

I think the abortion issue hurt the Party with there hard stance on abortion. While Romney seemed to wishy washy on it, the Republican platform is stricky against it under any circumstances. This needs to change. If it does, abortion would never be an issue in further elections.

Romney hurt himself on the issue of helping out GM and Chrysler. I think he was right in how to handle it. But he never explained himself when the Democrats hit him with him wanting GM and Chrysler to declare bankruptcy and allowing them to be sold off in pieces or to the highest bidder, like China. He was willing to have the government back up loans to GM and Chrysler after ridding themselves of billions of dollars worth of dept and redoing union contracts. But had no answer on where the money was to come from to help GM. The banks were all bailed out too and weren't lending. That cost him the states of Michigan and Ohio and a lot of votes in other states.

There were other issues too that hurt the Republicans. Like the immigration issue. There only solution was secure the border. Deprive them of work and have them deport themselves for lack of work. There were other ways of doing it without making them do that, or making them all citizens.

What surprises me most is that they couldn't see how important these issues were to millions of Americans. That they were stunned by the lose. I'm a Republican and voted for Romney, but the lose didn't stun me at all. I can't see how the Republican leadership was soooo surprised. Are they that out of touch with the American people?

I know, Marine, and I wasn't talking about you.

You are very consistantly trying to be fair and thoughtful, and I have said several time that, although I rarely agree with your positions, I think of you as a good, fair and honest person and I respect you a lot.

Thank you, I appreciate that. I do try and be fair. I listen to a lot of Left wing radio, along with Fox and ABC so I get a good view of both sides and I try and take in the whole picture when looking at things. Of course I do lean Right, so my views will be more Right than Left, But I don't disagree with everything the Left stands for and you can see I don't agree with everything the Right stands for.

I watched that YouTube clip....Did you hear this?

It makes it easier for Insurance companies to treat their customers badly

No that was not Hannity that was....OBAMA himself in that SAME clip at the beginning. Obama was spinning another yarn about how insurance companies have no competition and therefore, they screw everyone else. THEN...Obama says Insurance executives don't do it because they are BAD people but because it's profitable.

This man (Obama) could talk you into removing your leg and buying a 'better' 'government approved' one from him. Good God...You should be THANKING Hannity.....He hit the nail on the head. Another example why FOX rules.

Solid right wing defense there, Mr. "fair and balanced".

Maybe Burkett made the forgeries? They pinned it on Rather because he was too vocal on 9/11.....they needed him GONE. They succeeded.

A lot of people disagree with you and I'm one of them.

Even so, I think we all watch and like certain sources more than others. And if we want the "truth"... we ought to also know that stories have to be checked across more than than a single news source.

Yep and you clearly didn't watch the video for fear of learning the truth. Who knows why you are scared of it?

And Obama said that insurance companies treat their customers badly............"NOT BECAUSE THEY ARE BAD PEOPLE."
What did Hannity claim that Obama said...................."BECAUSE THEY ARE BAD PEOPLE."

Big difference in modern reality...................no difference when you live in a make believe bubble of your own creation!

I'm going to call BS on this since it was taken as part of a study taken in 2007, only covering the national election at that time:

This is hardly an extensive study of the network and is cherry picking the data from which it's calculating the results.

Just like Faux News regularly does, well for that matter all the networks do the exact same thing, so it is sort of unfair to target only Fox for it.

Foxnews was also the most brutally wrong during the entire Presidential election right up to and including election night.

Foxnews is brutally honest bringing out the far right wing point of view. Just like MSNBC is brutally honest bringing a view that comes from the left. Neither is truthful, they are only truthful if you want to hear what they are telling you

I dislike someone posting a blog of this type as some kind of factual document when you read a bit of the site and realize it's no less biased than Fox. Brutally Honest is Brutally Flawed in how it presents it's opinion, and is at best a crank site.

Honestly fox is one of the more reliable news sources they are the ONLY news station out there that ha bot conservatives and liberals as hosts on the channel. the rest of the major news stations are extremely leftists or liberals.

Well, that is but one of many reasons why lefties hate FOX NEWS. They also hate FOX because they realize FOX gets higher ratings than CNN and MSNBC combined. You see, once those liberal networks face competition (which is what FOX represents)--they fold up like a 3 dollar suitcase. Kind of reminds me of how the all-liberal radio show Airhead America tried its best to capture some of the radio crowd with their new station. What happened was that they suffered big time in the radio standings simply because the giants of Conservative radio like Rush Limbaug, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Michael Savage, Michael Reagan, Neil Boortz, Laura Inghram, etc. etc. blew them out of the liberal-infested waters. You see, liberalsim cannot compete against Conservatism in the market place of ideas and facts, therefore, their ideology falls on hard times once faced with competition. So, liberals are going to hate FOX probably as much as they hated Ronald Reagan and talk radio--simply because FOX, Reagan and talk radio became the giants in the arena of ideas and of espousing America's greatness, and those entities all inspired Americans to be the best they can be without cowering down to a collectivized government. Oh, and yes, those three giants built their successes all on their own. They didn't have obama's government help them.

In 'modern reality' if a business does bad things, the people RUNNING that business are bad people. It's not the other way around. Get a grip!

Ok,whatever; you just keep on watching FOX & the GOP will just continue losing elections.
The GOP is so caught up in their own little box (meaning;using Fox as their complaining arm of the congress)& using losers(Herman Cain, comes to mind) to spread mis-imformation & inuendo, that they have lost all focus on what is happening on main street U.S.A.
The proof is in the pudding, just ask Karl Rove....

So,once Dan Rather found out that these documents were forged & that he reported mis-imformation,he knew his long years of credibilty was questioned,he resigned.
    He is an honorable journalist.
So, don't let these Fox news enthusiasts lambasting Dan Rather to make their point, sway you into thinking there is any comparison.

    For very good reason.
He never stood a chance and very few people ever considered him to be a viable candidate.
It's the medias job to bring us the news, during a campaign that amounts to the real candidates, the one that are viable. Not the fringe whack jobs.
There is only so many hours in the day and when you sell ad time it cuts into those hours, so covering the legitimate candidates is hard enough let alone wasting valuable time on nut jobs that don't stand a chance.

fox is bad, horrible in fact, but not covering whack-a-doodles isn't what makes them bad.
