    http://theacru.org/acru/harvard_study_gun_control_is_counterproductive/

Harvard studied the issue and concluded that gun control measures are counter productive.

"The findings of two criminologists - Prof. Don Kates and Prof. Gary Mauser - in their exhaustive study of American and European gun laws and violence rates, are telling:

Nations with stringent anti-gun laws generally have substantially higher murder rates than those that do not. The study found that the nine European nations with the lowest rates of gun ownership (5,000 or fewer guns per 100,000 population) have a combined murder rate three times higher than that of the nine nations with the highest rates of gun ownership (at least 15,000 guns per 100,000 population). For example, Norway has the highest rate of gun ownership in Western Europe, yet possesses the lowest murder rate. "

"Finally, and as if to prove the bumper sticker correct - that "gun don't kill people, people do" - the study also shows that Russia's murder rate is four times higher than the U.S. and more than 20 times higher than Norway. This, in a country that practically eradicated private gun ownership over the course of decades of totalitarian rule and police state methods of suppression."

I don't think of my views on firearms as superior. If anything the folks who support the most recent failure in the senate have the superiority complex... one of irresponsible entitlement. I wouldn't want to be seen as superior in that characteristic.

Or one could say you don't support the constitution and the folks who support the most recent success in the senate do. Perspective is a biotch eh

Irresponsible entitlement? Wanting to keep and defend my rights as a free man guaranteed to me and everyone of my country gives me a superiority complex of irresponsible entitlement? If you dont like or want guns, dont buy or keep them. But dont think you or anyone else can tell me that i cant. Superiority? Nay, equality!

That is the way Democrats have come to see representatives ACTUALLY REPRESENTING their constituents. They are of the opinion that the citizenry are all too stupid to know what is good for them, so we need the elitist Democrats to tell us what to do and how to live.

Given that was about 90% of the population, that might say more about you than them

It isn't 90% of the population. It was 90% of a sample taken from three states; Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. If you really want 1,100 people represent your wishes, then keep on quoting the 90% thing. It is hardly a representative sample of the entire United States.

Apparently what Obama meant when he said he wanted to be a transformational President, is that he wants to shred the constitution.

Keeping guns from criminals and psychos by doing a background check is "shredding the constitution"? Wow. "Gun nut" is truly a representative description of you people.

Delrious with cult worship is very descriptive of you people. Gun control measures have never worked, and they never will. If you do any research at all (somewhere other than MSNBC's web site) you will see what a complete failure gun control meaures have consistently been.

    Educate yourself

We already have back ground checks when you go to buy guns. But do you really think most crminals cant get a weapon becuase the check says no. They will steal weapons or get them from another means.

And just one question, feel free not to answer. If the sandy hook shootings were suppose to be the big motivation behind these new gun control laws, why were they trying to pass new laws that would have done nothng to prevent that shooting to begin with, let alone columbine, vtech, or auora?

Why don't you show us how doing a background check will stop criminals and psychos from getting a gun. Let me help you on the criminals...do you think someone who walks out of prison (or has a felony conviction) is going to walk into a gun store and try and buy a gun? No, he is going to go to the local gun thug who has illegal guns. Same with "the psychos." If they can't get legally, they will get illegally. Universal background checks don't do crap to stop that from happening.

you do realize they KNOW it is backdoor registration? They also know that once registration is done, confiscation will be the next step. They know what they aren't saying, ya know?

personally , I don't give a damn what you believe. I don't provide these refutations in order to change your mind. they are provided purely to discredit your theories and opinions in the eyes of others.
