He didn't get total defunding but I presume he knew he wouldn't end up with that after the current round of negotiations.

Boehner was on record saying he and his members were taking a "stand" on obamacare.
They shut the government down.
They are fixing to pass a bill to open the government back up.
Obamacare is still funded.

they never said they would negotiate - they just said Obamacare is a done deal and no compromise would be placed.
and they didn't - Obamacare is happening.

From what I saw the Dims also conceded to properly verifying people's income before they receive subsidies instead of irresponsibly handing out taxpayer money willy-nilly based on some ridiculous "honor system".

 

Good. I hope the GOP continues to take a beating in popularity over this. I am no fan of the Democratic party, but the behavior from Republicans during this has been appalling. They really need to learn to relegate their extremists to the fringe again, and I don't see that happening until they lose more elections while their cheerleaders promise that they are actually going to win.
