What's even sadder is the pessimism I have towards the political process. We have a Washington and an American People who are unwilling, incapable of or even recognizing the political challenges of 17 trillion in debt. Indeed, there's no hope remaining for the country. So why should we bother for a forsaken people and a forsaken land? Whose very Founders are despised and spat on by the people in power.

Uniting people under a common banner might seem good, idealistic and a dream worth pursuing but the means aren't there. Neither is the will nor the fire.
This country's dead. It was headed that way from the mid-60's onwards, but we can confirm that we're Rome in it's last days.

Riped with corruption, saddled with debt and yay we can bomb people to death! How can I not be pessimistic in the Homeland's darkest hours?

Even now in the face of overwhelming defeat, the ideologues seek to blame the media for their failings instead of looking in the mirror. Perhaps in the face of 100% of reports going one way they might consider that said reports were accurate in reflecting public opinion.

This pretty well sums up my reaction as well. When every single story reports the same facts and the facts are intolerable, what else can they do but discover a conspiracy? Hey, if they looked in the mirror, the only possible conclusion they could draw is that the mirror is on on the conspiracy too!

Average Dominance for any civilization in history is about 307 years. So instead of these being the end of America's days as the main superpower, everything that is happening now is sowing the seeds of failure in about a 80-100 years.

And I don't give one rats rear end for the doctored and manufactured manure that is dispersed by the Faux Media Sources who's claim to fame that Romney would win a landslide, that the Senate was sure to flip to the Republicans, and that the House would extend it's number of seats in 2012, was complete and utter hogwash.

Deal with the facts, that the so called polling by the Faux Media are not accurate in the least, and that the brainwashing of those who listen to it is pretty much complete. Should take a step back and really listen to those who fall for the Faux News Brainwashing. They repeat so many of the same lines, many of them false. It sounds very much like the kind of things the Nazi's did in Germany. And heaven help anyone who is a moderate conservative, they are the worst of the worst.

Should really listen to yourselves, and how people are treated. Pretty harsh, unyielding and uncompromising. Sounds pretty much like a cult to me.

The Republicans knowingly and intentionally harmed our country to extort political demands they could not achieve by legitimate means. The Democrats did not.

Did you expect the 41 to lie?

Have you been taught to repeat a mindless disingenuous slogan over and over again, or do you just enjoy mouthing untruths? What responsibility does Obama bear because he simply refused to compromise on the debt ceiling?
Take out time from your by rote sloganeering to figure out an answer to that.

"All network shutdowns in Obamacare portal blamed on Executive branch in every story ever. Democrats watch youtube videos with kittens and harp on republicans wish to spare you from ignorance as to your environment" was a little too long I guess.

Hard to follow, but what I did glean is pure fantasy. Right wing talk radio is screaming shut the government down. And you think they are not an influence on shutting the government down. My guess is that you were supporting the shutdown, but let me guess, people like you telling your representatives to shut the government down aren't to blame for the government being shut down.

People holding hostages always think that they are "justified" by whatever their cause.

The reality is that the US democracy is a beautiful system, and lots of people are feeling that the deficits are too large. So if republicans ran on a realistic approach to eliminate them, I think they could win. But this approach would not have to be the Ryan plan of increasing military spending even more and privatizing social security as a scam to cut it. And people know that cutting taxes more for the wealthy will not drop the unemployment rate the lowest in 100 years within a year, like the Ryan plan assumes/claims. But the way the constitution was designed is that you need to win elections to get your legislation past. Republicans won and passed tax cuts, passed medicare part D, started wars, and increased military spending and left with deficits.... that is their legacy and people did not like it. Obama won and passed bank reform, credit card reform, created a consumer protection agency, increased taxes on the wealthy a tiny amount (not as much as they were cut previously) and passed Obamacare... If republicans can run against this and win, then they get to pass legislation.

All this whining about the media is just right wing delusions, because you can't seem to grasp that you are a hostile to the government fringe that scream to shut the government down for your minority position, and then are baffled why the actions you support to shut the government down results in you being blamed for shutting the government down.... really.....

What was disingenuous about the fact that "The Republicans knowingly and intentionally harmed our country to extort political demands they could not achieve by legitimate means"?

Obama stated clearly that he was wrong in accepting a deal in 2011 and, that for the sake of future presidents' negotiations, he would accept no conditions on raising the debt ceiling. The blame is fully on the GOP for thinking that Obama would give in once more. The debt ceiling should not be used to try and get concessions that you cannot get by regular legislation. The GOP did the damage to that kind of negotiation when they reneged on the sequester package. They had said that the sequester package was too severe and that both sides would find something to replace it. They reneged and accepted the sequester package. Tell me why anyone would negotiate with them this time?

See how honest MSM is. They got both situations right. Now did Fox News get them both right?

More importantly, the American people blame the loon section of the Republican House. Old news at this point.

Using a true scandal like Benghazi, does not allow you to turn the fact of Republican blame on its head. Don't be ridiculous. The whole country knows the Republicans were responsible, and they're lucky they're not in jail, on extortion charges. If I were president, they would be.

That was only because the Republicans actually bragged about shutting it down. What were they supposed to report?

Become familiar with how it's SUPPOSED to work. Then familiarize yourself with how Pelosi and Obama conspired to get their ill gotten gain and then you won't be supporting their actions like you are.
