'NOT' paying your employees to be employed for your own profitability? I'll answer this, if you can answer, "How much profit is enough"?

How much are they paid? 2 bucks an hour? I spend more than that on washing my clothes.

I can do what? Come up with a big pile of cash, and 'get a piece of the action'? That the only way to 'get ahead', or to 'enjoy the fruits of my own labor'? Cough up some cash? You guys are beyond hilarious.

Are 'safe harbor' plans, write offs at the end of the year too? Got anything that ISN'T deferred, or paid by 'somebody else'? 401K's are a book keeping tool, and no more. The money they 'share' with the employee, gets mostly paid by the government so, they're not really 'sharing' anything.

No one does, without a profit motive. That's reality.

I was obviously, referring to the tipping system. Not about what motivates a company. Of course companies are about profits. So are employees. So is everyone.

People don't do stuff, without a profit motivate.

Again, look at every single thing you own in your entire house. There is not one thing that exists without profits.

Why is it that you people on the left continuously make up crap that other people didn't say, and then moronically attack your own made up claim?

Naw, you have the honors as hillarious. You don't know what you're talking about. We keep trying to explain that to you, yet you, due to your ignorance on the subject, can't get out of the gate. You were left behind long ago because of that.

yeah, its not a law to tip your waiters and waitresses, but keep in mind, they work for less than living wages. they work for less then minimum wage. they survive, buy food and pay bills on your tips.

that's why we americans have seriously screwed things up. we have a minimum wage. waiters and waitress are paid less than it and expected that the tips will pay the difference

there's a very large difference between unkind and unlawful. there are many lawful things that are unkind.

I always leave a tip, regardless of service. if the service sucked, i leave a 5% tip in a full glass of water upside down on the table.

Then there's a disconnect. Because there should be no problem with waiters having to give good service and not being jeks and earn that tip.

You need to reread your own statements.

The public directly pays the payroll for these big conglomerates. That's a great gig. Free labor, that you don't have to lift a finger to support. Just schedule them to work. Yup, great gig.

Nah, you're the one working for every Tom, Dick, and Harry, that pays your salary (if they feel like it).

Handouts? This coming from basically, what, a panhandler who depends on everybody else to 'tip' him?

I keep telling you that you have no employer, other than the public. The company you support doesn't pay you. It simply demands you to work, for nothing, and you comply, and panhandle for tips. Somebody hasn't figured out something, for sure.

401k's aren't write offs? Do tell.

Why do you care? What is it personally that is bugging you? You spout off like you know nothing. What's your goal here?

If you read the posts in the thread lots of people. Please at least try to have a conversation before just posting. Because if you had even made an effort to be part of the discussion you would not have asked a question that was covered 50 pages ago.

Work for free all you like. Just don't tell me how wonderful these kinds of establishments are that don't pay anybody, but demand they work. If you like that kind of thing, and like begging for cash, hey, have at it.
