"You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror." - James 2:19

I'm an atheist and am not interested in supernatural gobbledeegook. I have, though, heard it through the grapevine that Muslims believe in Jesus.

    Matthew 7(*)(New International Version)

    True and False Disciples

21(*)“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’(*)will enter the kingdom of heaven,(*)but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.(*)22(*)Many will say to me on that day,(*)‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’(*)23(*)Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

Ignoring for the moment that the first statement nullifies the second (if you don't believe in supernatural matters, than Jesus would be irrelevant to you) it would be more accurate to say they believe A Jesus existed, but as to believing IN him - not so much.

You keep saying we should not judge him. Thats ridiculous. Nowhere in the Bible does it require people to be blind to other peoples actions, intentions, and beliefs. In fact, if you read the entire Matthew 7:1-2 and not just stop after the first 2 words:

"Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again."

It says don't be a hypocrite, you better live by the same standards you apply to others. It does NOT tell people not to judge others and simply live in an ignorant bubble.

If the man has become a Christian, then great. If he is truly saved then thats between the man and God, and I have no way of absolutely knowing that and must judge the man based upon his actions and words, and treat him accordingly.

In other words, you will define God in the most pleasing manner that fits your lifestyle. As your lifestyle changes, God will change to accomodate your desires. Everyone gets to create their own version of God to fit their own personal likes and dislikes. No absolutes, no standards, no universal Truth (with a capital "T").

What you really mean is that you don't really believe in God (any god), you just can't bring yourself to admit it.

No, Muslims don't just believe he existed. He is regarded as one of the most important messengers sent by god; indeed, it is he who will return to earth on Judgment Day and vanquish the antichrist (as according to Islam).

There are no absolutes. Absolutes are the basis of tyranny.

Christians and Muslims belive in absolute purity/perfection, to Christians it was Christ, Muslims its Muhamad, if you read the OT however you wont find one prophet/hero that doesnt have flaws, all kings had some dark side to them, the prophets were too zealous etc', Im not religous but I like that part of Judaism that nothing is absolute (execpt the father above) we are all human and we all make mistakes.

That is not what I said at all. I know I believe and why, I believe all of it, Jesus lived, He died, He rose again, He tells us how to live, I believe everything in the Gospels as its written. It is simply I always find myself trying to understand how these words might apply to other people who are not exposed to Jesus the way I am. And I don't think I have the ability to judge whether these other people do or do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ.
