So which partisans do you think will win this time, the ones in the West of Ukraine fighting the East of Ukraine, or the ones in the East of Ukraine fighting the West of Ukraine? :confuse:

I think that the ones in the West will win, because Putins tactics were foolish.

He decided to revive the old and debunked Soviet Mythology about WWII.

He ignored the fact that Bolsheviks starved 7 Million Ukrainians during Holodomor, and that calling the opposition to the existing regime "Nazis" and "Anti-Semites" (alluding to the Ukrainians who did not support the Soviet Regime and collaborated with the Third Reich during WWII) would only unite the Ukrainians in their opposition.

I am sorry for Putin, he did a lot of good things for Russians, but he is a fool because he did not use the chance to tell the truth about WWII.

If he had told the truth about WWII, this may have been something to unite the former Soviet people.

But Putin preferred to perpetuate the Soviet lies, calling the Ukrainians, Estonians, Lithuanians and Latvians who fought against Communism "Nazis".

Putin hoped that former Western allies of Communists would support him if he calls the opposition in the Ukraine "Anti-Semites" and "Nazis", and repeats that communists were the ones that rescued the Jews.

    How foolish of Putin!

He does not understand how the western tactics work!

No, the West will support anybody for tactical reasons, and after that the former allies will have to pay for their "Anti-Semitism".

I can imagine that the next big uprising will take place in Moscow, if you got the money you can create any opposition to any regime... and then Putin will have to flee to North Korea.

    :D

it has nothing to do with WWII, Putin´s mistake is that he uses only hardpower in his east European politic (Georgia, Belarus,Poland, etc.) , which is clearly doest work with Ukrainians, they are not pushovers

But the government in Kiev is illegal and is not recognized by the Eastern and Southern part of Ukraine. They only recognize their own local government and are forming their own militia. Putin said that if they ever need Russia's help, that he will support them the way he supported S. Ossetia and Abhazia. Do you think there will be a war, or will Europe and the U.S. recognize the rights of the people who live in the other half the country?:confuse:

Well, Ukraine can just split, Crimea and the East Districts can return to Russia, and everybody in Kremlin will be happy with this solution.

But I guess that NATO (speak the USA) wants the Crimea, it is an important strategic region.
On the other hand... Russia will not permit this outcome.

So what is the solution for the USA (speak the American warmongering elite)?

I guess that they will finish Putin, too.

I will not be surprised if we see a Russian "Orange Revolution" with barricades on the Red Square in a couple of months. Putin is a clever man, but his opponents are even more clever... and they have more money.

RT? all what they can do foolish an old lady like, you . save reminds of your mental health dont watch it. new government is recognized by the Eastern and Southern part of Ukraine. those unhappy faces which you have seen on TV belong to titushki - scum who today fight for an amnesty (from a new Government) for looting, rape, beatings, shootings, manslaughter, etc.

here is your Russophilic heroes(titushki) from Crimea (alcoholics, and hobos) , from 4.15

I honestly don't believe this has much to do with Putin's supposed power over the Ukraine.

I think this really more of an issue over state corruption and the states inhibition to join the EU.
Obviously some people aren't interested in the EU and some are.

The violence itself; well the police are pretty heavy handed with the results being obvious.

I'd be surprised if this does spill over into civil war as although there have been demonstrations outside of Kiev they haven't manifested themselves in the way Kiev has.

The Russian concerns over the Crimea is for the naval bases which are home to the Black sea fleet and of course those bases are leased out until 2017.

Anybody think Putin will go in? I don't think he will, but he might if the new 'government' remains a shambles for few months.

I haven't seen any reports on this East versus West fighting; is it still going on? I don't see anything in it for Putin at the moment; it's no longer a super power and its traditional imperialism and expansionism is a dead letter for the next 30 years at least. It's too corrupt a state to pull off much these days.
