Reuters ^ March 3, 2014 Russia's Black Sea Fleet has told Ukrainian forces in Crimea to surrender by 5.am (0300 GMT) on Tuesday or face a military assault, Interfax news agency quoted a source in the Ukrainian Defence Ministry as saying. The ultimatum, Interfax said, was issued by Alexander Vitko, the fleet's commander. Hes using those Russian speakers the same way Hitler used the Sudetenland Germans. Theyre like the Palestinians to the anti-Zionist. If they didnt exist, theyd have to be invented. Putin is a thug and a punk. Hes willing to plunge the nations of Russia and Ukraine into a war so he can be Peter the Great and Stalin all in one person. Its like what Orwell called the "Committee for Spontaneous Demonstrations".
I think the Chinese have it right: http://www.politicalforum.com/showthread.php?t=345532 At the present time, the entire planet is in a bit of a crisis. The intelligent thing to do is for everyone to put away their war toys and concentrate on rebuilding our economic foundations. The matter of an independent Ukraine should be kept as a priority, but postponed until a time when it can be done in a manner that doesn't threaten anyone. With China coming out on the side of Russia, the commies have pretty much laid down a red crevice in the earth, where our Hussein had reluctantly placed his thin pink line. This way, the squabble remains within Ukraine, but with Russia moderating to prevent further death and destruction. Now, we have to hope that this isn't just another staged "crisis", sponsored by the NWO, to further indicate that we would all be much more shiny and happy under a one world Gov.
Try telling Putin to put his toys away first. I think he may have bitten off another war he will end up losing over time.
Possibly. Between now and sunrise, a lot of things are possible. One should consider that Putin believes that he is seeing the dissolution of the Russian Federation. That would be the end of his world. To be remembered by history as the man in charge when that happened would be a sentencing to hell for him. Literally. The world had better be on the alert that to Putin, this could be worth the Nuclear option. With that in mind, the world may well be willing to sacrifice the Ukraine, regardless of what it represents or what happens afterwards.
Probably nothing, unless they tear gas them. The ruse was probably to have them give up peacefully, but it didn't work. It seems the Russians are very concerned that no blood is spilt, while the Nazis tried to do the opposite so they can use it for propaganda reasons. I read about these marines, it seems they are the only ones holding out. No doubt they are from the West and do not want to endanger their families. So tell me Litwin, I thought you said this was an anti oligarchal revolution, so why has Kiev appointed oligarchs to governships in the Eastern provinces?
I believe marines are just waiting for harsh moves by Russian to justify their surrender. Something like tear gas, cut supplies of toilet paper and coffee... I do not think there will be any active war. Who need it? Russian marines in Ukrainian military?
. - - - Updated - - - ......... /\ Filthy LIEs If you believe them, you believe Absurdities A perfect example of stirring the pot, seeking & encouraging HATE and purposly inflaming the situation Fact Is Russia's Black Sea Fleet Denies Ultimatum Issued To Ukrainian Forces In Crimea http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-03-04/ukraine-russia-denies-ultimatum-issued-in-crimea/5296372 .
You only deliver truth to the people? Oh please. You choose to believe a different news article put everyone who does not also choose to believe that is absurd. How, well absurd.
Oh so the Russian speaking Ukrainians didn't ask the Russian Army to come in and protect them from the neo Nazis in Kiev while they formed their own government? Does that mean the cheering and flowers they received was all faked? Hmmm! Pretty good fake there. Uhhh! By the way I have a bridge in Brooklyn you might be interested in.
Why would Russia's Black Sea Fleet issue an ultimatum and not the Crimean fleet? You do know that all fourteen ships of Ukraine have switched flags and are now under Crimea, that is unless you're reading American or British news sources, then you wouldn't know anything.
No, I read all news agencies, but its not a surprise that most if not all of the Ukrainian navy is Pro-Russian, most of the naval bases are in the Eastern/Southern parts of Ukraine. Just because the Navy has switched does not mean the rights and thoughts of the rest of the nation are to be dismissed. Over 50% of the US's military forces are from the southern regions of the country. TN the Volunteer state is know for its contribution to our military, does that mean the ideology of TN people supersede the people of the rest of the states?
i believe that Ukrainians have a huge balls , and Ukrainian marines defend Ukrainian future , i am sure they will give a good fight
You speak Absurdity - How do you NOT choke to DEATH ? Theres one sure benefactor of the current political economic crisis in Ukraine. Heres a hint: Its not Yanukovich, the recently deposed President who absconded to Russia with literally billions of Ukrainian hryvna belonging to the countrys financial reserves. Yanukovich, however wealthy he may currently be, is a wanted man who will ultimately be handed over to The Hague for trial. Unfortunately, its also not the Ukrainian people, who no sooner shed enough blood to unseat a number of corrupt high officials then woke to an occupied Crimea. Russian-armed protesters occupying the regional airports and parliament buildings will be embedded there a long time unless Ukraine takes violent countermeasures. Bad, bad idea. The one immediate benefactor to Ukraines turmoil is George Washington. Or rather, George Washingtons image. On the dollar bill. According to an article from the UK media source Euronews: Ukraines currency, the hryvna, fell to a new record low against the dollar on Thursday. It has been falling in value for weeks due to the political and economic uncertainty in the country. But the decline accelerated after parliament stripped President Viktor Yanukovych of his powers on Saturday. Ukraines central bank said it was not going to buy the hryvnia to support it anyway it is running out of foreign currency reserves to do that. Economists believe devaluation is justified given the countrys economic circumstances. Ukraines new Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said securing a loan agreement with the International Monetary fund is vital for the country to stabilize the hrynia. He told parliament: We need immediately to sign an agreement with the IMF. As soon as a deal on an IMF program has been signed, money will come for our reserves At one point in the last week, the hryvna exchanged at a rate of twelve twelve US dollars! I suppose a further benefit to the decline of the hryvna is that with so many Russian roubles previously invested in the Ukrainian economy and the military exercises now being conducted on and near Ukrainian soil, the rouble appears to be falling along with it. From the Moscow Times, February 14th: The Russian currency continued its recent slide Wednesday, reaching its lowest level against the dollar since 2009 and recording a historic minimum against the euro. The euro was worth more than 49 rubles during morning trading, while the dollar rose to 35.59 rubles, its highest level against the ruble since March 2009, according to data from the Moscow Exchange. The ruble has led 2014 declines by emerging market currencies. This year the currency has lost over 6 percent of its value against the euro-dollar basket, the benchmark used by the Central Bank. Russian officials have denied that the authorities are deliberately allowing the ruble to weaken in order to raise export revenue and stimulate the country's flagging economy. Despite gains by the dollar against both currencies, its doubtful John Kerry will gloat over the phone to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov as they discuss the political crisis in Crimea. Though the dollar always fairs well against the rouble, Russia has invested billions of roubles in Americas economy, a sticking point in negotiations over Russian aggression campaigns like this one, and the 2004 invasion of Georgia. Businesses specializing in tourism and travel, such as Phoenix, Arizona-based A Foreign Affair, see an advantage coming to the hundreds of men it will accompany to Ukraine this year. Obviously, we feel tremendously for the people of Ukraine. Yet, clearly, with these kinds of gains, Americans will simply get more for their money in cafes, restaurants and shopping malls and will see better prices for hotels and airfare options. Says Bud Patterson, A Foreign Affair Vice President. I can just see guys eyes light up at the currency exchanges. Good news for A Foreign Affair this is, as many of its clients will visit Ukraine in pursuit of its greatest natural assets millions of beautiful, marriage minded women. American ex-pats looking to purchase real estate or start business ventures might encounter a bureaucratic snag here or there, but Ukraines growing interest in the dollar should encourage investor brevity. What remains to be seen, is whether or not anticipated loans from the International Monetary Fund and additional loans from the US and UK to restore Ukraines reserves will return the dollar to its previous levels. 1stworldview
