I was just told by a Greek it's the anarchist party, so I assume they are the ones who destroyed Athens and cost the country a fortune. As for Greece leaving the Eurozone, I think it would be better for them, but I don't know what the implications would be? I'm not that knowledgeable about Greek politics or its economy.

You're reading too much Western propaganda. Greece is a nation which is faced with an Islamic invasion from Turkey and Albania... and it is costing them a fortune to hold on to their country. Golden Dawn has a very large following in Greece since they are the ones who help the police by protecting the elderly and others from robbery and murder... which today is rampant. To give you an idea of what's going on, there are now thanks to Turkey, over one million illegals in a nation of ten million people.

The Greeks never tolerated robberies and violent crimes and before this mass immigration, legal and otherwise, Athens was considered the safest place in Europe. Golden Dawn blackened its name when it began targeting all foreigners from the Middle East ...legal and illegal. The migrants coming in from Turkey were not to blame though, with a few exception of course. The ones to blame were the criminals coming in from Albania. The migrants smuggled in from Turkey had endured unimaginable hardships to enter the E.U., and were deceived and manipulated by the Turkish human traffickers with government connivance in order to increase the Islamic population in Greece and takeover the country. This is why it's considered an invasion, and this is why there is so much support for Golden Dawn.

A lot of hogwash by propagandists who either are lying outright, or projecting their own actions and what they are doing themselves. This is probably why everything going on in Ukraine is being misread.

The support for Putin comes from those who support the values which has formed Europe, and it has nothing to do with Nazism, since nationalism is self adulation, and that's pagan not Christian. Nationalism is a sin in Christianity. The reason Greeks support Putin and Russia in general, is because they are under a Turkish threat in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean, and see Russia as their only hope.

I see this administration as a continuation of the Clinton administration and State Department, so lying is second nature to them. They see political office as a prize given to those who are the most adept at manipulating public opinion, not as a responsibility to the people as a whole. It seems they have been following these precepts in their foreign policy as well. Clinton started it with the lies over Kosovo, and now Obama is trying the same thing in Ukraine, but people are waking up...or at least some of us are. Especially after seeing the destruction of Syria and our blatant support of questionable people in preference to a well known tolerant leader.

A beautiful spin :spin: and a falsehood as usual. Did you pick it up or make it up yourself but either way it's stupidity in itself. How can the protesters hate Ukraine when they are Ukrainians? Isn't that an oxymoron? Nor do they hate the Ukrainians from the Western part, who had never been united with their Russian Orthodox brethren, but had fallen into servitude to Catholic Poland and Austria Hungary. It's this servitude which gave them the deep complexes that accounts for the racist tendencies in the Western part of Ukraine, and their memberships in former Nazi parties such as Svaboda. They have projected their hatreds in the past towards Jews, Russians, etc., and were condemned by the E.U. a few years back. :oldman:

Uhhh! Maybe it's because the majority of Ukrainians don't hate Putin? Anyway that's not what they are protesting, because many of the Ukrainians see themselves as being a part of Russia. They are protesting because they want the country to federalize so they will have more autonomy. Yanukovich was not adverse to joining the E.U., but he realized there was no economic gain in doing so. Actually there would have been an enormous loss because the trade with the E.U. would never have covered the losses in their trade with Russia...something which Russia could not have continued since the E.U. products would have been entering Russia through Ukraine's preferable trade agreements.

The Western part of Ukraine probably would have gained, while it was the Eastern section which would have lost, and this is why Russia suggested separating the country into areas. Anyway I realize what I said will not fit into the anti Putin agenda which you favor, so it will be ignored of course.

If Obama knows that his unilateral power ISN'T dictatorial, he has bizarre way of showing it. So what, pray tell, was all the pen-and-phone rhetoric about? To warn Congress that he was going to invite them all to "the campfire" for a Kumbaya session...? No! Instead, he illegally changes voted-and-signed LAWS all by himself, especially the biggest fraud and LIE we've seen since the Great Depression and FDR, over eighty stinking years ago -- Obamacare!

Quite a few more people than just little old me are very, very concerned about what your wonderous President Transparency is trying to pull now, Jonsa, and you should be, too. Read on:

    http://pjmedia.com/tatler/2012/01/04/an-unprecedented-abuse-of-presidential-power/

I could go on like this for hours, but I'll bet you think this kind of commentary comes only from racist people on the Right... right? Then why is it that even one of your über-famous, über-liberal pundits of many decades standing, Nat Henthoff, thinks Obama should be IMPEACHED for his abuse of power:

Look, when it's gotten so damn bad that people on the far-Left and on the far-Right think Obama is a tyrannical, anti-constitutional autocrat, then ya think there just might be some truth in it...?!

He hasn't done anything illegal. If he had, I'm sure the radical right wingers would be all over it, taking him to court. why hasn't that happened? Because exercising CLEARLY DEFINED executive powers thru executive orders ain't illegal.

As to the rest, I am simply tired of this ridiculous partisan bumpersticker nonsense that has only the slimmest connection to reality, but feeds into an acceptable anti-obama narrative that many partisans are incapable or unwilling to recognize as spurious misrepresentation.

You seem to be one of them..

Don't think too highly of a gaggle of cowardly RINO's, who soil their trousers for fear that if they dare to criticize your precious President Transparency, the hyperlibs will start throwing thousands of RACE CARDS at them! A time is rapidly coming when many of us who have NEVER been racists are going to be telling you Obama-lovers, "OK, to hell with it! If the only defense you clowns have for Obama breaking all the laws regarding who can change laws after they have become laws, is to curse his critics as RACISTS, then fine! We'll be "racists"! Who ****ing cares anymore!

He broke the War Powers Act in 2011 with his illegal warfare against the Government of Libya (with which we were at PEACE).
He LIED through his teeth to get Obamacare rammed down our throats, and then unilaterally, and illegally, changes it to suit his political convenience! Ya think that falls within a category of things that are "high crimes and misdemeanors"...?!
He made an illegal recess appointment and lied about that, too. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news...obama-broke-law-recess-appointments/?page=all
And now he puts Congress on notice that he intends to rule with a pen and a phone... and that's just fine with you? But I'm the one with "bumper-sticker" rhetoric? No wonder the Left and the Right wings in this country have come to absolutely hate each others' guts! There is no "common ground" left when we're dealing with a deceitful sleaze-bag autocrat like Barack Obama!

I totally agree that he broke his promises about presidential transparency.
OTOH, there actually are a lot of racist who have spouted over the top criticism and insult in the quest to delegitmize him. That doesn't make every critic a racist, and those that either utter blank accusations of racism or those that take offense when ignoring the facts are simply churlish partisans.

No he didn't. If such an agregious crime as illegally taking the nation to war was committed, why didn't any of his bitter political enemies have the balls to take legal action? Maybe they knew something you didn't, like the accusation is bogus.

And here I thought America was a democracy and that laws ahd to pass both houses of congress. That isn't ramming anything down the throats of americans, that is following the constituion.

He is well within his executive power in making changes to implementation schedules of legislation. if it was illegal, again, where are the legal proceedings against him.

[uquote]He made an illegal recess appointment and lied about that, too. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news...obama-broke-law-recess-appointments/?page=all [/quote]

No he didn't. What ticks off the republicans that he found a legal way to get around their blatant obstructionism. I notice those appointments have not been subject to any legal challenge.

Oh my,for all your passion about american government you don't seem to know much about how it works and the separation of powers under the constitution. Executive order has been around since good ol' George Washington. EVERY PRESIDENT has used them. there is nothing illegal about it, but it sure shoves a burr up obstructionist republican arses.

Yes you are using bumpersticker rhetoric.
You make wild unsubstantiated accusations of illegality on the part of the president. You and yours regurgitate Luntzisms ad nauseum believing that they have actual merit. YOu turn a completely blind eye to the outrageous obstructionist behaviour of republicans. You claim alll kinds of "scandals" where despite YEARS of committe meetings Issa and the gang haven't managed to "nail" any democratic wrongdoers and dont' question Issa's competence with such a spectacular record of failure.

There's lots of common ground. But in order to meet there it takes actions that have become swear words on the right. Compromise and co-operation being the two biggest.

lol call me when Russia has free and fair elections with an opposition with an unsuppressed opposition and a populace which has freedom of the press, speech, and assembly.

It really is quite amazing to watch and study people so thoroughly sucked up into an authoritarian cult of personality. Scary.

Are you retarded? What the hell does it matter if I am a saint or not? Lets see... so far you have proven that
    1. I am not a saint
    2. My claim that Putin is thug is by default false because I do not have a halo on my head.
    3. That I am not Napoleon
    4. I do not know all the strategies Putin has rolling around in his head.
    5. I am not an Elf with secret "bloodlust" detecting powers
    6. Your not sure if there is psychiatric care available to me in Texas.

These points you have proven somehow make Putin a faultless hero in your eyes? A servant of the people with everyone's best interest at heart? Your strawmen are pathetic.

(laughs) Again. "Independent" than you are not pleased? Again falsification? Hand of the Kremlin? This is paranoid. Although in United States is often the case. Recall, for example, U.S. Secretary of Defense James Forrestal, 22 May 1949 Jumped out the window shouting "The Russians are coming. The Russians are coming. They’re right around. I’ve seen Russian soldiers!" Now shout - "falsification". Just do not jump out the window.

(laughs) My dear friend. Firstly calm down. Nervous - very harmful to your condition. Secondly, you just said - you do not know anything about Putin. Nor his plans or his thoughts. How can you talk about the person, not knowing anything about him? Level of support Putin in Russia - 86%. Oh yeah. Fox News no talks about it - it's a fake? Right? And by the way. In your "Independent" - Kremlin trumpet?

How about Pepe Grillo ? or the new Czech party of "technocrats" ? citizens in troubled countries will search for any way out of conventional politics which have proven to be lesser than the situations required. The Le Pens , Farrange and our nazis are just there and voters think that they will provide solutions .... of course they will not but they do not posses the worn off philo-EU policies of Hollande , Cameron or Berluskoni.

Of course nobody votes for change of regime but for change of policies.

Putin acts exactly like an American republican , i know that this is despicable for any sane European but hey nobody called Bush or Romney nazis .

I have no idea about the differences between English and Scottish when it comes to politics , i have family members working both in London and Aberdeen and things (like employment) in the later are much better , probably Scotland has not yet experienced crisis.

Our debate has become an infinite do-loop. I present instances of Obama ruling like an autocrat which you deny, while you offer rebuttals that I refute, to no avail. We could each be accused of "circular reasoning"... the "trench-warfare" continues, and each of us accomplishes nothing. I gave you numerous sources that make it plain how much Obama has overstepped any Constitutional stretch of "executive" unilateral authority, which you blithely ignore....

If there is just one point we could still possibly agree on it is that our world is headed inexorably toward a state of being frighteningly like that described by George Orwell in his classic, "1984".

Nothing good will come of this, Jonsa. Our American republic has already largely failed. In truth, the tenets that supported modern democracies throughout the world have eroded and decayed. We have autocratic "strong-men" (or their puppets and stooges) ruling all of the major powers in the world today. It seems more and more inevitable that worldwide conflict will occur now, and I'm reminded, dismally, of what the Terminator told the John Conner character in "Terminator II, Judgement Day" -- "It's in your nature to destroy yourselves...." Neither your side nor mine can change it, especially when we can't even agree on what an autocratic despot IS in the first place!

So, we must forget altruism and focus on survival, and that depends on which "despot" prevails. Obviously, this is shaping up to be primarily a cage-match between Obama and the EU versus Russia and China. Today, we are in possession of superior weaponry and technology, but that is shifting to Russia's and China's favor almost daily. Moreover, the Russian and Chinese leadership is vastly more intelligent than ours is. Couple that with the realization that there is almost nothing on Earth that could ever make any of the European countries willing to combat against their biggest supplier of readily-available energy, and there you have it! We on the Left and on the Right (and the pants-pissing RINO cowards) will suffer almost certainly be defeated in the long run if we continue this way. So, I don't know which will be harder to learn -- Russian, or Mandarin Chinese....

But your examples are simply not correct. YOu claim illegality, yet NOBODY who is in a position to do something about such illegality seems to be taking any action. Are you suggesting that republican politicians are in collusion with Obama to allow him to run around breaking all kinds of laws? Your accusations do not seem to be supported by those with vested interests in defeating the dems.

You'd have to actually prove that the tenents of modern democracy have eroded around the world to the extent they are all autocratic.

OTOH, I will agree that america is moving more and more toward "he who has the gold makes the rules" with the recent SCOTUS campaign finance decisions.

Well, I will agree that china has a long range strategic economic plan that puts america to shame. IN fact while they spend a few bucks on their military to ensure the US maintains or increases its military expenditures, they are busy around the globe securing long term sources of needed natural resources. they are winning the economic war, if for no other reason that America and Europe don't seem capable of long term economic planning any more.

Are there free elections and freedom of speech and press in the USA or any western country?
USA is totally controlled by a small ethnocentric lobby.

The American president is not afraid of his voters, he is afraid of the lobby that controls the media!

As we see, Nixon was just a Wimp.

If he believed that USA is going down the drain, then his duty was to talk about it.
But he was afraid to talk about the danger, USA was facing.

Why do you think that Obama has more guts, than Nixon had?

What to Putin, he is not afraid of any tiny lobbies, he does what is good for Russia and what is good for his voters.

Come on man... more strawman tactics.. you are pathetic. Foxnews? Poll data in Russia? If you cant figure out how stupid it is to cite those things as support for your opinion.. I'll have better results teaching my dog the finer points of playing chess than trying to explain it to you.

Only talking with a dog you feel your wisdom? It's a tough case. You need to take care of your health. Just in case, "The Independent" - a British publication. But you probably better to continue to play chess with your dog. Good luck to you, my dear friend.
