I wonder if Texas can declare itself a sanctuary state which chooses to ignore Obamacare, Federal Income tax, and EPA regulations?

So you are on the record as to being totally oblivious to any Republican ideas?

The Chamber of Crony Socialism provides plenty of campaign contributions to establishment republicans. Establishment republicans are only a little less bad than their democrat counterparts.

An Article V convention of states to propose amendments is the only lawful way to repair the damage and restore Constitutional government. If this fails some future generation will have to decide the issues through the force of arms.

DUH that is exactly what this is all about, Obama instructing the federal government NOT to do it and granting them amnesty for all intents and purpose.

It was a federal judge who wrote and very meticulously written well reasoned opinion. It will now go the the 5th Circuit and then no matter which way they rule to the SCOTUS which is the ultimate goal.

Then elect congress critters who agree with you and will write a law to do that...........pretty simple.

They can't vote until they become citizens and that's ten years or more down the road. And why wouldn't they vote for Dems? Sure as hell Repubs aren't doing anything for them.

True dat. And we had such a Congress last year, one that would have easily passed that immigration bill in the House. Unfortunately, the Repubs in charge would never let it come to a vote.

If they register with that drivers license Obama wants them to have how do you stop them?

    - - - Updated - - -

Because it was already annouced DOA in the Senate. Obama had a full Democrat Senate in 2009 and 2010 and a Democrat Senate up until last year, why didn't he do the right thing and pass real reform?

A "priority" for Obama and the dems...but not that much of a priority.

They're illegal, what should we do for them? Do you think by making them all citizens is going to fix our immigration problem? Or does that tell others, sneak in, lay low and jump on the next citizenship train some years down the road? Then 10 years from now we have another 3-5 million here asking for citizenship? All the while we have people from all over the planet waiting for their chance to get in. How do you think that is right? Well any other nation do what your asking us to do?

Fortunately they didn't. Tell me why are you so for immigration and citizenship for them? Study after study shows they aren't good for the country. They will take more tax dollars away than they will ever pay in. Even Obama said they weren't, and they hurt Blacks and the Blue collar worker. So why is it all you Libs are for it?

Obama's view on illegals before becoming President.

The majority of their ideas are simply different forms of what we had in the past and does not address the issue of ensuring that all our citizens have access to good affordable healthcare.

Which is legal for him to do, watch and see how the courts will end up ruling and you will learn that what was done is not even an original idea and is within the Presidents power to do.

How MANY times between 2010 and 2012, did a Republican judge "rule against Obamacare"....

and the Right told us "This is it....Obamacare is gone!"?

    Twenty? Thirty?

...and with 13+ states firmly in blue control that avenue is also closed.

    and then
I wouldn't be counting your chickens just yet.

And those judges were correct, even SCOTUS agreed, until they converted it into a tax.

Yeah, yeah...the bemoaning of a LOSING sports team fan. "We won the game, the refs were agin us."

I'm talking this is the SAME pattern we have seen before.....ONE Republican judge rules against the Administration, and the gullible or just childishly naive Right ....egged on by Rightwing Media....is convinced "This is it. We've won. ONE JUDGE in Podunk, Texas said so!"

I agree they have been consistently insisting on it but I find their follow through to be lacking. Plus, they are not insisting on addressing the root cause of the issue, the reason why the illegals are coming here in the first place (jobs).

Personally, I would have gone with a squatting analogy. I'll have to do some research on chain immigration as this is the first I've seen that term.

Not quite correct, did you not see my other comment with the link? Many in administrative law and immigration law state that its not going to be so easy to get this overturned. Sounds like you need to get off the ideological high horse and do some actual research.

Right. With Democrats, they get non-performing schools, no jobs, and a life of poverty on the dole. And why in the world would they wait for ten years to vote? Are you thinking of asking Melowese Richardson to wait for another election to cast her second or third or fourth or fifth vote? I don't think so.

True, except there's validity to the conservative argument, none for the liberals. This decision is not a decision of "activism", it's a decision based upon constitutional law; therein lies the difference.

The "activism" was the Obama WH pulling such a stunt in the first place.

In short; Obama has admitted he could not do what he did. Then said he changed the law, to fit his purpose. The question then, can the executive, change law to fit some purpose. They ignore law or not enforce, but can they make up new law to fit an agenda? I'd suggest no and anyone wanting the executive to change law to fit some purpose, best understand, any future president would have the same authority.

Counting chickens before they hatch is a trait of Cons and the many times they have ended up with egg on their face is proof positive, so I will leave that to those that like to assume their wishes will come true. As with this thread topic, the wheels have not stopped turning and what a lower court says is often and rightly so overridden.
