These aren't any old terrorists, they're not like the Red Brigades or the SLA. These are Islamic terrorists, they do what they do because of their belief in Islam. (Whatever they perceive "Islam" to be, that's what they believe in - and the belief is what allows them to act the way they do).

To say that these people are "not Muslims" is beyond ridiculous. We have enclaves of "radical Islam" starting up all over the world, with no apparent connection to each other besides a book and a few religious scholars - and we're supposed to believe that Islam has nothing to do with any of this?

As for being ginned up for war, sometimes war is necessary. When a group demonstrates their will by decapitating children, burning prisoners, and decapitating those they disagree with, I have no problem whatsoever with killing them. You can invite them to your home for tea if you wish, but I would advise against it.
